CONDITIONS OF SCHEME 'If you have land in The National Forest where you would consider creating a small area of woodland, Freewoods will interest you'. Designed & produced by www.designwall.co.uk The applicant must own the land where the wood is to be created, or have the written agreement of the owner. The land must be in The National Forest. The land must be a minimum of 0.25 hectares but less than one hectare. The land affected cannot be under an exisiting environmental stewardship scheme or be a condition of planning permission. The planting must be completed by March 20th each year. Different woodland types can be used to form a single scheme and scheme design is not confined to the woodland types listed. An appointed agent designs, applies to the NFC, implements and completes the works through to completion in Year 3. Applicants agree to ongoing maintenance of the woodland. THE PROCESS - IT’S SO EASY

AuthorisationNFC approve scheme or makes recommendations for improvements.

ImplementationAgent instructs and contract managesimplementation and establishment of newwoodland to Year 3, covering all of the costs.

CompletionNFC inspect in Year 3, close agreement with agentsubject to woodland being in suitable condition, andprovide landowner with guidance and advice for thewoodland’s future care and maintenance.

SubmissionWoodland Agent designs a scheme aroundlandowner’s aspirations and suitability of the site using the woodland types listed opposite to guide the process.

Agent submits application form, design map and planting specification to the National ForestCompany (NFC) for approval.
