Dear Grace Family and Friends,

God is working in the hearts and minds of His people. That’s clearly evident in the Grace Baptist Church family. I’ve been asked recently about making sure our lives make a difference for the cause of Christ. It saddens me that so few really invest the time to hear God’s voice and know God’s will. Both are required if we’re to live victoriously. I love what Henry Blackaby said in “Experiencing God.” “Success in the Christian life is a matter of finding where God is working and joining Him.” Most of us are guilty of deciding what we want to do and asking God to join us. The problem with that philosophy is that our intentions will glorify “us.” God isn’t in that business. He desires and deserves to be glorified in everything we say and do. And He’s working all around us. I heard a powerful testimony this week of God’s miraculous provision for His people. Yet discovering where He’s working takes time. It involves spending time in His Word and listening for His still, small voice. But God is speaking continually. We’re just too busy, and too preoccupied with the “here and now,” to stop and listen. It’s time to break that pattern. Each of us needs to recommit ourselves afresh and anew to hearing the voice of God. It’s helpful for me to begin every day that way. Some mornings I only have 5 or 10 minutes. Other days I may spend 30 to 45 minutes. I read Scripture every morning and try to let those verses speak deeply into my soul. But then I make it a priority to listen. It’s amazing how dramatically that can affect the day. Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still and know that I am God.” “Still times” are extremely rare in most of our lives. Yet we are the masters of our time. Let’s change our priorities and put Him at the top of the list. Nothing more is required to hear His voice. I love and appreciate you all. God Bless You.

How to Join Grace Baptist Church

At the end of the Worship Service, we will sing a hymn of decision. During this time, you are invited to walk to the front of the Church

in response to the leading of the Holy Spirit that you sense in your heart or mind. Our Pastor and a counselor will

be at the front to talk with you about your decision.

One of the decisions you may wish to make is to become a member of Grace Baptist Church. You may do so by telling the

Pastor or Staff Member one of the following:

• I want to trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, but don’t understand how. I need someone to help me.

• I have accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and desire New Testament baptism.

• I have previously received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The Church I joined did not practice New Testament baptism, so I want to be baptized and join Grace Baptist Church.

• I am a member of another Baptist Church and want to join Grace Baptist on a promise of letter from that Church.

• I have previously received Christ and was baptized into a Church by New Testament baptism, however, the record of my Church membership is unavailable, or I have been a member of another denomination and wish to return to a Baptist Church.
