Sarah has 25 years of experience in the insurance market, during which she has developed a particular focus on operations and business consultancy. Since 2001 she has used this experience to support specialist energy brokers and their clients, and was previously COO of Agnew Higgins Pickering & Co Ltd.  Sarah has an MA in Spanish and French from Oxford University and is a Fellow of the CII.

Paul began his career with Anglo American in South Africa. He moved to London, Minet Insurance Brokers (now Aon) in 1994 and went on to join Lloyd Thompson Ltd (latterly JLT) in 1997. Paul joined RKH in 2005 as a founding member of the energy business. He specialises in the onshore energy sector and is Managing Director of RKH Marine Energy & Construction. Paul is also a Board member of Howden UK Group.

James has 30 years' experience in the insurance industry. Following employment at Agnew Higgins Pickering & Co Ltd, James joined RKH in 2005 as a founding member of its energy business. James specialises in the design, placement and servicing of liability placements for clients in the energy industry and is Executive Director responsible for the Offshore, Marine and Casualty teams.

Whilst the Executive Team is responsible for the overall strategy and direction of the Marine, Energy & Construction business, each individual remains very involved in day to day management within their specialist fields and the servicing and placement of their accounts.

Angus has over 30 years' experience broking in the London market. In 1998 he helped found Agnew Higgins Pickering, becoming head of the onshore natural resources practice group and developing a diverse worldwide energy portfolio. Angus joined RKH after two and a half years at JLT where he was responsible for the onshore natural resource division. Angus now directs the Onshore Energy and Construction teams.

RKH Specialty provides flexible solutions to clients across

the entire natural resources spectrum. We believe that

our insurance and reinsurance products and solutions

will continue to be a key component of financing and

managing risk.

James joined the energy division of CT Bowring in 1982 before joining Price Forbes in 1994. In 1998 James joined Willis heading up the upstream broking team. James joined RKH in 2012 following three years at JLT/Lloyd & Partners.

Mark Jones

Mark started his insurance career at Willis in 1991. Specializing in the international upstream business, he then joined Agnew Higgins Pickering in 2000 where he was a member of the Executive Committee and was responsible for the servicing and placement of energy insurance binding authorities for US wholesale brokers. Mark’s responsibilities also encompassed the role of Account Executive on a number of US independent E&P companies for both construction and operational insurances. Mark joined RK Harrison in February 2007.

Chris has over 30 years' technical experience of international energy and marine risks. Prior to joining RKH at the formation of the energy division (January 2005), Chris worked for JLT (formerly Lloyd Thompson).

Mark graduated from Trinity College Cambridge with an economics degree and joined the graduate scheme at Willis. In 1988 he moved to Jenner, Fenton and Slade. In 1998 he joined Agnew Higgins Pickering as a member of the executive committee. Mark joined RKH in February 2007.

Philip joined RKH in January 2013 specialising in offshore construction. Previously at Marsh, Phil has been broking in the London energy insurance market for 25 years. He has worked on a huge variety of construction projects worldwide.

Jonathan started his broking career in 1982 before joining Willis in 1994. In 1998, he joined Agnew Higgins Pickering and was appointed to the board with responsibility for the offshore division in 2005. Jonathan joined RKH in February 2007 and is currently head of the offshore team.

Georgina started her insurance career as an AON graduate, going on to work in both Power and US Upstream Energy. In 2008 she moved to Lloyd & Partners and was promoted to Partner in the Marine & Energy Team in 2010. Georgina is a Divisional Director and Associate of the C.I.I. Her responsibilities include designing, facilitating, co-ordinating and servicing multi-line energy package and liability programmes with a focus on Exploration & Production and Drilling Contractor companies.

Offshore energyThe offshore energy team contains a dynamic mixture of highly

experienced brokers and technicians whose expertise has been

honed during multiple cycles of the insurance market.

Our knowledge encompasses all disciplines pertaining to the sector

and is truly global in the breadth of business handled, ranging from

small non-operators to global energy companies and including

contractors and complex construction projects.

European and Bermudan markets.

Having developed his experience handling U.S. Gulf Coast Liability business, Nick joined Newman Martin & Buchan Limited, where he was appointed a Director of the Marine & Energy Division in 1991, specialising in production and marketing. In 2004 Nick moved to Bowood Partners Ltd and is now a Director of the RKH Marine, Energy & Construction Division.

Tom graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2011 with a degree in English Literature. Tom joined the company in August 2013, having spent 2 years previously as an Underwriter at Steamship Mutual. James has been a specialist US casualty broker for 27 years starting his career in 1985. For the last decade his focus has been exclusively energy liability. James moved to RKH in 2011 to lead the energy liability team.

Chris has approximately 10 years in the London Insurance Market, having begun his insurance career as part of the International Casualty team at Windsor Insurance Brokers in 2006. Since then he has developed his role and is currently Broking Director for the International Liability team. His role is focussed on overseeing the team’s Canadian book of business, but he is also heavily involved in other territories such as Australia, and South America. Chris secured a BA Hons 2.1 in Marketing Management from Derby University

Chris has 35 years experience in the London Insurance Market. He started his career as a claims technician in 1980 and progressed through the ranks to Director. Chris heads up the original Windsor UK Offshore broking team and along with his colleagues specialise in arranging Liability programmes for contractors in the Oil and Gas Industry working all over the World. Chris’s many years of experience in the offshore sector has seen him deal with everything from one man limited contractors to multinational offshore contracting and diving companies.

Rob Strain is an Electrical Engineer from the University of Waterloo. His 35 year career has included primary underwriting, brokering and reinsurance. He currently heads up Canadian Resources Insurance, the Canadian division of RKH Specialty that provides MGA and wholesale insurance products for the resource sector in Canada.

Chad has 15 years of experience in the insurance market, focussing on International Casualty. Originally from Canada, he began his career as a loss adjuster; handling a variety of general and complex casualty claims for both domestic and Lloyd’s insurers. In 2011 Chad moved to the UK and began working in the Lloyd’s market, first as the Claims Manager and then moving to placing broker as a Director. Chad’s claims knowledge allows him to support the needs of brokers and policy holders both prior to and following losses; ensuring the best possible claims outcome and ultimately premium terms.

Elliott has 16 years in the London Insurance Market, whereby he started his career working at Aon as a claims technician in 1999 and then joined Windsor Insurance Brokers Ltd in 2000 to take up the role of UK claims broker. In 2002 Elliott become an account handler/broker after moving over to the placing side of the UK division and developed his role to broking director. Elliott’s area of expertise is within the Energy Oil and Gas Sector focusing on the placement of Employers, Public and Products Liability programmes primarily for servicing contractors working in the UK North Sea, Europe and most recently Australia.

Peter Blackshaw has 20 years experience in London market wholesale casualty broking. Having graduated from the University of Portsmouth with an honours degree in Physics, he has been involved in UK and international liability wholesale broking since 1993 and is currently a divisional director. Peter has worked for SBJ, Windsor Partners and Howden Insurance Brokers. He deals predominantly with Canadian and Australian retail, wholesale and MGA clients but is also experienced in UK, South East Asian and South American markets.

Simon Dawes has over 25 years' experience broking upstream & midstream energy losses, including extensive experience in offshore construction & energy liability claims. He joined Lloyd Thompson (JLT) in 1984, taking overall responsibility for energy claims in 2004. Joined RKH in January 2007.

Nick has over 28 years' experience of the insurance industry on the claims side. Nick was formerly chief adjuster of the property team at Xchanging Claims Services. Prior to that, Nick was head of claims for the Cox Syndicate which encompassed the utility division, Cox Power Services. Nick joined RKH claims division in June 2006 as a divisional director and head of claims. In October 2009, Nick was appointed to the board of RKH insurance brokers and subsequently RKH Specialty. Nick has handled many complex and significantly sized property damage / machinery breakdown and associated business interruption claims, including those arising from the attack on the World Trade Centre on 11 September 2001 and those which arose from the 2005 hurricanes.
