Sarah has 25 years of experience in the insurance market, during which she has developed a particular focus on operations and business consultancy. Since 2001 she has used this experience to support specialist energy brokers and their clients, and was previously COO of Agnew Higgins Pickering & Co Ltd. Sarah has an MA in Spanish and French from Oxford University and is a Fellow of the CII.

James Beckett Executive Director


Paul began his career with Anglo American in South Africa. He moved to London, Minet Insurance Brokers (now Aon) in 1994 and went on to join Lloyd Thompson Ltd (latterly JLT) in 1997. Paul joined RKH in 2005 as a founding member of the energy business. He specialises in the onshore energy sector and is Managing Director of RKH Marine Energy & Construction. Paul is also a Board member of Howden UK Group.

James has 30 years' experience in the insurance industry. Following employment at Agnew Higgins Pickering & Co Ltd, James joined RKH in 2005 as a founding member of its energy business. James specialises in the design, placement and servicing of liability placements for clients in the energy industry and is Executive Director responsible for the Offshore, Marine and Casualty teams.

Whilst the Executive Team is responsible for the overall strategy and direction of the Marine, Energy & Construction business, each individual remains very involved in day to day management within their specialist fields and the servicing and placement of their accounts.

Angus has over 30 years' experience broking in the London market. In 1998 he helped found Agnew Higgins Pickering, becoming head of the onshore natural resources practice group and developing a diverse worldwide energy portfolio. Angus joined RKH after two and a half years at JLT where he was responsible for the onshore natural resource division. Angus now directs the Onshore Energy and Construction teams.

RKH Specialty provides flexible solutions to clients across

James Sage

James joined the energy division of CT Bowring in 1982 before joining Price Forbes in 1994. In 1998 James joined Willis heading up the upstream broking team. James joined RKH in 2012 following three years at JLT/Lloyd & Partners.

Mark Jones


Mark started his insurance career at Willis in 1991. Specializing in the international upstream business, he then joined Agnew Higgins Pickering in 2000 where he was a member of the Executive Committee and was responsible for the servicing and placement of energy insurance binding authorities for US wholesale brokers. Mark’s responsibilities also encompassed the role of Account Executive on a number of US independent E&P companies for both construction and operational insurances. Mark joined RK Harrison in February 2007.

Sam Martyn


Sam started working for Sedgwick in 1988 and joined RKH in 2007 having also spent 9 years at Agnew Higgins Pickering. Sam specialises in upstream energy insurances including all aspects of servicing and overseas marketing.

Christopher Underwood


Chris has over 30 years' technical experience of international energy and marine risks. Prior to joining RKH at the formation of the energy division (January 2005), Chris worked for JLT (formerly Lloyd Thompson).

Mark Jenner


Mark graduated from Trinity College Cambridge with an economics degree and joined the graduate scheme at Willis. In 1988 he moved to Jenner, Fenton and Slade. In 1998 he joined Agnew Higgins Pickering as a member of the executive committee. Mark joined RKH in February 2007.

Phil Williams


Philip joined RKH in January 2013 specialising in offshore construction. Previously at Marsh, Phil has been broking in the London energy insurance market for 25 years. He has worked on a huge variety of construction projects worldwide.

Matthew Hilsum


Matthew has over 20 years of energy insurance experience dealing with a diverse client base ranging from major integrated oil companies to junior exploration and production companies from all over the world. He joined RKH in February 2007 and manages the broking team.

Jonathan Smith Executive Director | Head of Offshore


Jonathan started his broking career in 1982 before joining Willis in 1994. In 1998, he joined Agnew Higgins Pickering and was appointed to the board with responsibility for the offshore division in 2005. Jonathan joined RKH in February 2007 and is currently head of the offshore team.

Georgina Williams


Georgina started her insurance career as an AON graduate, going on to work in both Power and US Upstream Energy. In 2008 she moved to Lloyd & Partners and was promoted to Partner in the Marine & Energy Team in 2010. Georgina is a Divisional Director and Associate of the C.I.I. Her responsibilities include designing, facilitating, co-ordinating and servicing multi-line energy package and liability programmes with a focus on Exploration & Production and Drilling Contractor companies.

Nick Boler


Nick started working at Agnew Higgins and joined RKH in 2009. He has responsiblity for the servicing and placing of energy property programmes.

Oliver Litterick


Oliver has over seven years of experience in the renewable energy sector. He specialises in project specific insurance placements, working closely with both insurers and clients.

Daniel McCormick


Daniel has been in the insurance industry for 12 years, most recently within the renewable energy sector. He specialises in arranging asset specific insurances for Renewable Power producing sites and has assisted some of Europe’s Leading Renewable Energy specific Private Equity investment firms.

Paul AdamsExecutive Director | Head of Onshore


Paul has 27 years' experience of the insurance industry. He joined the RKH energy division in January 2005. Paul specialises in the design, placement, management and servicing of property & construction programmes for clients in the energy industry and is now an Executive Director.

Simon Cox


Simon started working in insurance in 1991 working for Jenner Fenton Slade, with the onshore energy division. He joined AKP in 1999 where amongst other things he founded the Bermuda operations. In 2010 Simon joined RKH and is an Executive Director with responsibility of utility companies and our mining practice.

Peter Magyar


Peter began his career in 1990 with Minet, joined JLT in 1996 and then RKH in 2006. Peter specialises in the design, management and servicing of insurance programmes for clients in the onshore energy industry and is an Executive Director.

Ed Hawkings


Ed Hawkings started work in Lloyd's in 1978 . He has enjoyed broad broking experience with the Sedgwick Group, Aon and JLT in various guises before joining RKH. His particular expertise is finding solutions for clients' insurance problems and he finds the greatest opportunity for this in the carbon and mineral extraction industries.

Richard Hurley


Richard joined RKH in 2009 specialising in management and servicing of a number of energy clients. He has particular expertise in the handling of midstream energy accounts.

Rob Collecott


Rob started his insurance career with Sedgwick in 1991. He joined RKH 2014, having moved from Miller Insurance Services LLP, where he was Head of Onshore Energy and Power. Rob specialises in the strategic design, planning and marketing of Onshore Energy programs and placements and is an Executive Director.

Kevin Wood


Kevin started his insurance career in 1997 with NIG Skandia. He subsequently worked for Gan Insurance Company followed by JLT global property and energy departments. Kevin joined RKH in 2005. He is responsible for the account management of a number of energy clients.

David Wilson


David has over 25 years' experience in the industry and was a founder member of AHP. David has been at the forefront of the management, design, marketing and servicing of property programmes for our energy clients. David joined RKH in 2010 and is an Executive Director.

Onshore energyWith over 30 people specialising in onshore energy, we are one

of the most experienced and versatile teams in the London,

European and Bermudan markets.

Our expertise revolves around physical damage and associated

John Perrin Executive Director | Head of Construction


John commenced his insurance career in 1983. Always specialising in the Construction & Engineering sector, he has been successful in the UK, South America, Asia and Australia handling and placing some of the world’s most prestigious projects in many differing industry types. John also has experience in successfully placing UK Privately Financed Projects.

Richard Alford-Smith


Holding a BA in Business Mgt, Richard joined RKH in 2014 and is focused on major building, civils, industrial and power projects worldwide. He has worked in Construction insurance since 2000 and was previously a Partner at JLT, having overall responsibility for placing annual and project specific insurance on behalf of major UK construction clients across a wide range of specialisms.

Orla Crosara


Orla began her insurance career in accounting and technical, and during her time at JLT gained experience in both Construction and US Casualty business. In 2009, she joined the International Wholesale team to assist on the large number of complex projects being processed. She also handled a large portfolio of Contractors Plant and Equipment accounts before joining the current team in 2014.

Rob Webb


Since joining RKH in 2008 Rob has developed a portfolio of project based, owner controlled insurances in the Power, Petrochemical, Mining, Oil and Gas industries as well as annual policies for a wide range of contractors. Having worked in the London Construction Insurance industry since 2000, Rob’s experience is multifaceted and his market relationships are strong. He designs bespoke solutions for his clients and focuses on value-added service delivery.

Keith Diver


Keith started his insurance career in 1983 at Alexander Howden. From 1994 to 2004 Keith worked for Newman Martin & Buchan as a director of their marine & energy division with responsibility for production and marketing of interna-tional marine & energy related business, with specific focus on European hull and contractors. Keith joined Bowood Partners in 2004 before joining RKH in October 2008 as a divisional director.

Simon Fox


Simon has over 30 years experience in the marine and energy insurance industry having commenced his career in 1982 at Hinton Hill & Coles. Simon joined Newman, Martin & Buchan in 1993, subsequently becoming a Director of the Company in 2001. Simon moved with a team of colleagues to Bowood Partners Limited in 2004 who were acquired by RKH in 2008 since when he has been a Divisional Director of the marine team.

Nick Demont


Nick graduated from the University of Warwick with a B.A. (Hons) in History and Politics before joining Anthony Lumsden & Company in 1983 working in the Policy Department preparing wordings and closings to the London Market. Having developed his experience handling U.S. Gulf Coast Liability business, Nick joined Newman Martin & Buchan Limited, where he was appointed a Director of the Marine & Energy Division in 1991, specialising in production and marketing. In 2004 Nick moved to Bowood Partners Ltd and is now a Director of the RKH Marine, Energy & Construction Division.

Daniel Whiteside Executive Director | Head of Marine


Daniel commenced his insurance career at Newman, Martin & Buchan in 1990 and was appointed to the marine & energy board in 1999. Daniel joined Bowood Partners in 2004 as part of their new marine & energy team, where he specialised in the production & marketing of marine & energy related business, before joining RKH in October 2008, where he is now head of the marine team.

Richard Quy


Richard commenced his insurance career at Newman Martin & Buchan in 2002 before joining RKH in October 2008 to develop the existing North American portfolio. Richard was appointed a divisional director in 2012.

Chris Metcalf


Chris graduated from the University of Hull in 2003 obtaining a degree in Business Studies and joined NMB in 2004 on a graduate training scheme. Chris gained his advanced diploma in insurance (ACII) in 2006 and joined RKH in 2011 to focus on energy liability.

Andrew Nightingale


Andrew started his career in August 1981. From 1985 to1994 Andrew worked for two independent insurance brokers specialising in P&I before joining Lloyd Thompson. For six years Andrew worked for Monument UK. Andrew joined RKH in 2005 and is a divisional director.

Tom Jones


Tom graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2011 with a degree in English Literature. Tom joined the company in August 2013, having spent 2 years previously as an Underwriter at Steamship Mutual. He has completed his Cert CII qualification, and is currently studying towards a Diploma in Insurance. He provides broking and technical support to the Liability team.

James Wylie Executive Director | Head of US Liability


James has been a specialist US casualty broker for 27 years starting his career in 1985. For the last decade his focus has been exclusively energy liability. James moved to RKH in 2011 to lead the energy liability team.

UK and International Liability

Our team of specialists has a wealth of experience placing

insurance cover for a wide range of liability risks. This

experience enables us to offer wide coverage and competitive

pricing when providing insurance solutions for our UK and

International clients.

The extended Hyperion network allows us to combine local

Elliott Payne


Chris Curd


Chris has approximately 10 years in the London Insurance Market, having begun his insurance career as part of the International Casualty team at Windsor Insurance Brokers in 2006. Since then he has developed his role and is currently Broking Director for the International Liability team. His role is focussed on overseeing the team’s Canadian book of business, but he is also heavily involved in other territories such as Australia, and South America. Chris secured a BA Hons 2.1 in Marketing Management from Derby University

Chris Meredew


Chris has 35 years experience in the London Insurance Market. He started his career as a claims technician in 1980 and progressed through the ranks to Director. Chris heads up the original Windsor UK Offshore broking team and along with his colleagues specialise in arranging Liability programmes for contractors in the Oil and Gas Industry working all over the World. Chris’s many years of experience in the offshore sector has seen him deal with everything from one man limited contractors to multinational offshore contracting and diving companies.

Rob Strain

Rob Strain is an Electrical Engineer from the University of Waterloo. His 35 year career has included primary underwriting, brokering and reinsurance. He currently heads up Canadian Resources Insurance, the Canadian division of RKH Specialty that provides MGA and wholesale insurance products for the resource sector in Canada.

Chad Hancock


Chad has 15 years of experience in the insurance market, focussing on International Casualty. Originally from Canada, he began his career as a loss adjuster; handling a variety of general and complex casualty claims for both domestic and Lloyd’s insurers. In 2011 Chad moved to the UK and began working in the Lloyd’s market, first as the Claims Manager and then moving to placing broker as a Director. Chad’s claims knowledge allows him to support the needs of brokers and policy holders both prior to and following losses; ensuring the best possible claims outcome and ultimately premium terms.

Elliott has 16 years in the London Insurance Market, whereby he started his career working at Aon as a claims technician in 1999 and then joined Windsor Insurance Brokers Ltd in 2000 to take up the role of UK claims broker. In 2002 Elliott become an account handler/broker after moving over to the placing side of the UK division and developed his role to broking director. Elliott’s area of expertise is within the Energy Oil and Gas Sector focusing on the placement of Employers, Public and Products Liability programmes primarily for servicing contractors working in the UK North Sea, Europe and most recently Australia.

Peter Blackshaw


Peter Blackshaw has 20 years experience in London market wholesale casualty broking. Having graduated from the University of Portsmouth with an honours degree in Physics, he has been involved in UK and international liability wholesale broking since 1993 and is currently a divisional director. Peter has worked for SBJ, Windsor Partners and Howden Insurance Brokers. He deals predominantly with Canadian and Australian retail, wholesale and MGA clients but is also experienced in UK, South East Asian and South American markets.

Neil PearceExecutive Director / Head of International LIability


Neil has 30 years experience of broking into Lloyd’s and was previously Executive Director of SBJ Marine and Energy. Following 20 years at Windsor Insurance Brokers as Managing Director, he is currently Executive Director responsible for the UK and International Liability team. Neil specialises in General Liability in the Energy, Marine and Construction Industries.

Simon Dawes has over 25 years' experience broking upstream & midstream energy losses, including extensive experience in offshore construction & energy liability claims. He joined Lloyd Thompson (JLT) in 1984, taking overall responsibility for energy claims in 2004. Joined RKH in January 2007.

Nick ColesManaging Director | Head of Claims


Nick has over 28 years' experience of the insurance industry on the claims side. Nick was formerly chief adjuster of the property team at Xchanging Claims Services. Prior to that, Nick was head of claims for the Cox Syndicate which encompassed the utility division, Cox Power Services. Nick joined RKH claims division in June 2006 as a divisional director and head of claims. In October 2009, Nick was appointed to the board of RKH insurance brokers and subsequently RKH Specialty. Nick has handled many complex and significantly sized property damage / machinery breakdown and associated business interruption claims, including those arising from the attack on the World Trade Centre on 11 September 2001 and those which arose from the 2005 hurricanes.

Tim Friday Power and Construction


An experienced onshore power generation and heavy industry, construction, operational, and time element claims handler. From 1987 has worked for insurers, a major broker and XCS. Joined RKH in 2010 as divisional director for power and construction claims.

Chris English Marine


Chris has over 24 years' experience in handling marine & energy losses in the London market having commenced his career with Norex Insurance Brokers in 1992. Chris joined Bowood Partners with responsibility for marine & energy claims before joining RKH in 2008 as a divisional director.

Stuart Johnson Liability


Stuart has over 13 years’ experience handling UK and International Liability Claims. After working for Xchanging in their London Binder department, he moved to Windsor Insurance Partners in 2007 and now heads up this team from within the ME&C Division.
