TRANSCRIPT
Outline for Sabbath School Teachers with ideas for group discussion inspired by the Teachers’ Edition of the Sabbath School Lesson prepared by the General Conference SS ministry.
Lesson n. 04 18 - 24 July 2020
The Power of Prayer: Interceding for Others
Key texts:James 5:16; Rev. 12:7-9; Ephesians 1:15.21; 6:12; Hebrews 7:25; Daniel 10:10-14; 1 John 5:14-16.
Principale Themes to Explore
1. Prayer is an immediate and personal act of direct encounter with God; it is the act of worship that connects us with the Holy Spirit.
1. Prayer is entering into the battlefield against Satan’s army that does everything to distance us from God.
1. Jesus is our Saviour and model in how we should engage with the Father, above all in prayer.
Suggestions for Teaching
Study the importance of prayer in the completion of the mission, comparing ourselves to the role models of Daniel, Jesus, Paul and John.
Possible questions for sharing and discussion
1. Why does God only respond if we ask? If He knows our needs better than we do ourselves, why pray and ask?
1. What use did Daniel, Jesus, Paul and John make of intercessory prayer? What did they pray for?
1. What have I learned about prayer that is new and important that I need to apply in my intercession for others?
1. What should our church leaders do to make our church communities become houses of prayer and intercession?
