Abstract

Capitalism as we know it has been in a direction of which is consumed by greed rather than a world of protection. I believe that the future of capitalism is insistent on a new evolution or become a new system that will consist of new ideas surrounding new energy structures, systems of consumption and production, new technologies, new jobs, and a more positive outlook of becoming a better democratic society.

With some new laws being passed and what-not, people’s views are starting to matter. These choices of the people are slowly starting to see change in how the world is going to operate.

Thus, with the slowly emerging laws, change will soon be coming.

What is Capitalism?

“An economic and political system in which a country’s trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state” (Google).

Capitalism is a system that is based on the individual rights of the people. It is the economic system of laissez-faire.

“The moral justification for capitalism lies in the fact that it is the only system consonant with man’s rational nature, that it protects man’s survival qua man, and that its ruling principle is: justice.” – Ayn Rand.

Capitalism and Its Roots

Capitalism started in the South when slaves were still acceptable.

“Fertility rates are lower and is below the replacement level” (Horner, 2014).

This capital world is not so beneficial as it once was. With the excessive material polluting the natural resources of the world, we are running out of resources for the population to consume.

Capitalism and Its Roots

The increase in the gap of income inequality is becoming larger and larger.

So “yes, capitalism is working… but only for those billionaires that vastly controls the majority of the nation’s wealth while the income of American workers decrease” Farrell, 2013).

Due to the children’s lower-social economic lives, these children do not have the capacity to have larger dreams and goals in their lives. Even with equal learning and education in school systems, some are unable to function as well as others.

Faults of Capitalism Because the middle class is who drives the

economy, more and more businesses are not surviving since the middle class base is decreasing. This is in effect since the unemployment rates are increasing.

The middle class is the one that is leading the economy ahead. The supply and demand chain in today’s society is changing by the second.

Everywhere we look, we are dominated by markets in every corner. As we look at health, the medical field is what fuels the hospitals.

“Capitalism governs the whole of life” (Farrell, 2013).

As the disparity of wealth increases over time, it will soon corrupt the morals of daily life since more and more people are unable to afford a living.

Capitalistic Growth of Administrative Assistants

Less education was required compared to the two year degrees and four year degrees that are more of a requirement in today’s jobs.

Less skills were needed in the past if you were to compare them to today’s ever-changing technologies.

These Assistants used to just take orders. Instead, they are now being included in decision-making processes and project management assemblies.

Because of the variety of our skills having expanding to everyday skills needed to control an office full of things needing to be completed, more and more jobs in this market is being called in demand.

Administrative Assistants went from supporters to management levels.

The base pay in this market has grown tenfold due to abilities, skills, and knowledge.

Educational Value and Skills of Trade As Lynn Forester of Rothschild had said, “there are more and more

individuals where they don’t have the skills necessary to get the jobs that companies are offering.”

Even with the educational background and the skills learned through hands-on experience, jobs are still unattainable by those that are most qualified for the jobs.

For instance, I believe that I have the qualifications to become an Administrative or Executive Assistant. With all that I have experienced and gained knowledge of, I have the necessary skills in order to achieve my career goal in life. But due to other’s expectations, we are unable to achieve those goals since others have their own opinions in those who get hired.

Administrative Assistants and Their Roles

In this market of jobs, this competitive job is self evident that requirements are consistently changing due to technology.

With the ever-changing ways of learning what it takes to become an Administrative Assistant or higher, it seems hard to always having to keep up with the changing titles no matter what skills or knowledge we have.

In retrospect with the main ingredients of an Administrative Assistant, it consists of: Oral and written communication skills

Customer service

Personal appearance and attitude

Team player and individual

And etc…

Administrative Assistants and Their Roles

In becoming a professional in this market, requirements need to be met in higher educational schools:

Computing Studies

Economics

History

Mathematics

Business

Technologies

Specializations in office skills

Project management

Ever-changing Roles

With the slight depression that we went through a couple of years ago, leading positions were being laid off. With these people getting laid off, jobs were being handed to assistants since it was “cheaper” to afford them to get the job done. With the workload increasing tenfold, assistants were still able to carry out the workload because that is what we assistants are trained to do.

Conclusion

With the way things are looking, administrative assistants will have a boom in the job market. But as for the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain this title, it will take at least three to five years in the making.

The indifference in the income inequality is very disparaging since it seems to be increasing. Even though wages have gone up n some parts of the world, it is not to say that it will help since it only happened in parts.

We will be seeing a new future to capitalism soon since it is unsure to say that this very capital at the moment is secure with the way things are moving.
