BACKGROUND
New recruits overwhelmed with information overload through brochures No motivation for recruits to reuse information given during induction Content on pamphlets not engaging enough
CHALLENGES
DelphianLogic introduced Learning Gamification to facilitate the process of induction.
HOW OUR SOLUTION HELPED
The goal : Introduce new recruits to various services of the organization through an ‘in-person invite’
Enhance user experience through visually rich and engaging media
Increase motivation for recruits to apply knowledge gained
Encourage users to play, involve more users with rewards mechanism
WHAT WAS THE GAME ABOUT?
The Net Rider game could be activated via a graphical invite The invite included a welcome message and a brief introduction of the game Game environment was modeled on the network of computers as the recruits were from the IT Services group Users were assigned a ‘digital vehicle’ that loosely represented the PC/device provided to each recruit upon joining Mission was to move from the starting point to the destination with minimum ‘HOPS’ Users were made to find the optimal path Number of HOPS tracked using ‘HOPS Meter’ Collectibles were provided as boosters for crossing hurdles
KEY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE GAMIFIED SOLUTION
Users were presented with specific information, previously available in pamphlets and brochures at ‘pit stops’ Users were to reuse the pit stop information at advanced stages to complete the game successfully, resulting in information reinforcement Real-life scenarios and examples of the work environment were wrapped with the game to make it relevant Ratings and level mechanisms were used to make the game compelling Winners were awarded with either Net-Rider(Runner up ) or Net-Rider(Expert) certificates
RESULTS, ROI & FUTURE PLANS
Established immediate connect with employees Players showed great interest in making it to the expert level Resulted in about 50% improvement in information security audit scores Average savings of over 12 hours of training time realized Potential savings estimated to be over $2 million in case of global roll out
