SUPPLIES Cotton: 10” Square tan or tone on tone Wool: sizes are totals (may be in 2 or more pieces) Green -- stems 3” x 4” Green -- leaves 3” x 4” Light Brown -- basket 3.5” x 5.5” Light brown -- basket handle 3” x 5” Tan -- nest 2” x 3.5” Light Yellow -- chicks 2” x 3” Pink -- bow 3”x 4.5” Dark pinks -- berries 3” x 3” total of a variety Lavender/purple -- flowers 2.5” x 6.5” total of a variety Dark Yellow -- flower centers 2” x 2” scrap of brown for chicks beak Valdani Pearl Cotton Floss (size #12) Colors: M 66, 45, 11, 154, M 18, Green to match Kits are available on our website: www.myreddoordesigns.com and on our Etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/shop/myreddoordesigns Optional Supplies: SOFT FUSE paperbacked fusible web for transferring wool • Template Plastic Appliqué Instructions: For this project we have reversed the pattern for you, using a bright window or light box transfer the image onto the SOFT FUSE, or the fusible web of your choice. Using a steam iron press the soft fuse onto the color of wool indicated. If you are using template plastic, transfer the image from the layout guide onto the plastic. Cut out the appliqué on the lines. Place appliqués onto the fabric piece, using the layout guide or use the traced image template plastic (right side of pattern). Once you have removed the SOFT FUSE paper and are happy with the layout, (making sure it is centered) Press with a steam iron, letting the steam bond the SOFT FUSE to the CLOTH piece. Blanket stitch or whip stitch around all appliqués using the floss of your choice. Embellish using different stitches -- blanket stitch, stem stitch, french knots for eyes. Use our finished photo for reference. We added stitches on the nest using a stem stitch going in all directions. After you complete the appliqué, press well and trim to 9 1/2” square.
