Christmas Card Painting ProjectOn Monday, October 2, twenty-four Felician Village residents attended a Watercolor Painting Class taught by eight members of Silver Lake College Student United Way. This was a campus wide activity with the intent of not only to have fun and express the resident’s inner artist, but to then have the works of art entered into the “Design the Felician Village Christmas Card” contest. Thanks to all artists that participated to make this a success. The students were excited and very organized. They accepted the difficult honor of judging the entries and chose six to go to the next and final round. Each of these are from different living areas. Which one of these masterpieces do you want to see on the Felician Village Christmas card? The final art pieces are displayed in the Café, near the Bistro entrance and will be posted on FV’s Facebook page. Vote by circling the number of your favorite (just one vote, please). Contest opens on Friday, October 6 through Friday, October 13. The winner will be announced on Wednesday, October 18!

Celebrating Mission & Heritage Week from Oct. 1 – 8 is very special this year as we observe the 130th anniversary of the founding of St. Mary’s Home. This week is a time to recall just how distinctive Felician Village is for employees, residents, family and the community. Our Resident First philosophy and service excellence culture are examples of how we maintain our Felician Franciscan tradition. It is important to remember that tradition and our role in honoring Blessed Angela and all the Felician Sisters who have followed her by fulfilling our mission to serve others. We also follow the Felician value of transformation when we ask for feedback from residents and families in our annual resident survey. Since receiving the results of the surveys in June, we have been sharing results with various groups including our employees and have been working on action plans to address concerns you mentioned. You also provided us with good feedback on the many things we were doing right. We share those comments – positive and negative – with our employees so they have an opportunity to accept the praise and to share in developing plans to improve.I feel blessed to be part of this great organization as we continue to honor our heritage and values to provide the best senior living experience for you in Manitowoc County. Thank you for your support.
