PROFESSION OF FAITH (responsive)
Trusting in the gracious mercy of God, do you turn from the ways of sin and renounce
evil and its power in the world?
I do.
Do you turn to Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Lord and Savior, trusting in His
grace and love?
I do.
Will you be Christ’s faithful disciple, obeying His Word and showing His love?
I will, with God’s help.
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (unison) Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ
His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;
the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the
right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick
and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of
saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting.
Amen.
WELCOME (responsive)
What are your words of welcome to these brothers and sisters?
We welcome you into the life and work of our church. We look forward to
growing with you in faith, hope, and love. We thank God for calling you to join
Memorial Presbyterian Church, your new spiritual home.
*THE PEACE (responsive)
The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
And also with you.
If you are worshipping in the sanctuary of MPC, please greet those around you with a wave of
the hand or a bow of the head. If you are worshipping at home with family or friends,

GREAT THANKSGIVING (responsive)
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Lift up your hearts.
We lift them to the Lord.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
You are holy, O God of majesty, and blessed is Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord. As one
of us, He knew our joys and sorrows, and our struggles with temptation. On the cross
He offered himself for the life of the world. Risen from the grave, He leads us to the joy
of new life.
Gracious God, pour out Your Holy Spirit upon us and upon these Your gifts of bread
and wine, that the bread we break and the cup we bless may be the communion of the
body and blood of Christ.
By Your Spirit unite us with the living Christ and with all who are baptized in His
name, that we may be one in ministry in every place. As this bread is Christ’s body for
us, send us out to be the body of Christ in the world. And now, in the sacred silence of
our hearts, we offer prayers to You for the Church and for the world…
As our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to pray:
THE LORD’S PRAYER (unison)
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our
debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
WORDS OF INSTITUTION
BREAKING OF THE BREAD
THE COMMUNION
All baptized Christians are invited to participate in the sacrament. It is the custom of this
congregation to retain the bread and the cup after their distribution so that we may
commune as one. Gluten free wafers are available in the sealed plastic for those on gluten free
diets.
