Overview

Our curriculum is based on the 5E approach to learning which is a very effective program designed specifically

to improve the learning and teaching experience.

Each of the 5 E's describes a phase of learning - Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, and Evaluate.

Engage: An "engage" activity makes connections between past and present learning experiences. It anticipate

activities and focus students' thinking on the learning outcomes of current activities. Students become mentally

engaged in the concept, process, or skill to be learned.

Explore: This phase of the 5 E's provides students with a common base of experiences. They identify and

develop concepts, processes, and skills. During this phase, students actively explore their environment or

manipulate materials.

Explain: This phase of the 5 E's helps students explain and understand the concepts they have been exploring.

They have opportunities to verbalize their conceptual understanding and demonstrate new skills or behaviours.

Elaborate: This phase of the 5 E's extends students' conceptual understanding and allows them to practice skills

and behaviours. Through new experiences, the learners develop deeper and broader understanding of major

concepts, obtain more information about areas of interest, and refine their skills.

Evaluate: This phase of the 5 E's encourages learners to assess their understanding and abilities and lets

teachers evaluate students' understanding of key concepts and skill development.

Contents of the 5E Curriculum

Assembly Planners:

Assembly time is a very important time of the day where all the students assemble together in front of their

teachers and pray to the almighty for blessings and teachers exchange a few words of wisdom with the students

to enhance moral values among the children. This normal routine is quite boring for the young ones as they

tend to get restless observing the same routine each without any fun quotient involved in the process. So in

order to make assembly a fun process specially planned theme based assembly planners are being

implemented.

Under these assembly planners special themes will be dedicated for each month where students will engaged

in special activities during the assembly which includes storytelling, role plays etc. will be included and along

with as a part of the planner a small G.K session will be inculcated with the planners to develop their knowledge.


Teacher’s Manual:

Teachers play a very important role in the development of a

student. In order to promote a healthy teaching experience for

the teachers, a teachers manual will be provided in advance

which will give a total insight on how to, when to and what to

teach.

Each manual will focus on the following aspects (detailed insights

mentioned below):

1. Lesson Plans: This will give teachers an idea how a teacher should teach a lesson and giving an insight

what tools to use while teaching and making activity a fun thing. All the lesson plans will be based on

the 5’E model under which will enhance not only the content grasping of the children but also develop

the reasoning of the students.

2. Lesson Enrichment Questions: These will be small activity based questions planned specially to enhance

the lesson grasping of the children where they will be doing these activities in the presence of their

teachers and learning in a fun way.

3. Learning Outcomes: This will give teachers an idea what values the chapter will be delivering to the

students and how it will benefit them in their daily life.

4. Student Content Knowledge Assessment Worksheets: These worksheets will provide some questions

from between the chapter which will work towards the analysis of the chapter’s learning to the teacher

and he/ she will get an insight how the class is doing.

5. Subject Enrichment Activities: These are some specially planned activities which are mostly done in a

game form to make classroom experience a fun learning one where every child is equally involved in the

activity. All these activities are planned as per the theme of the chapter where they get to learn from

out of the textbook experience.

6. Monthly Proficiency Test of Teachers: These will be test for teachers for the Chapters that they will teach

in that particular month. A small question paper will be prepared which will be based on Continuous

Proficiency Development test. Through this test we will get to know how much teacher is prepared for

the particular topic.

7. Event Organising Guides: A guide will be prepared and sent across to the school leadership in advance

which will provides tips and ways to organise events.

8. Event Assessment Rubrics: These rubric sheets will be designed to check the student performance,

participating in all these events.

9. Weekly Review with Teachers: Weekly revive will be done regarding the syllabus completion, resources

used, guidelines followed, lesson plan implementation, etc.


Parents Handbook:

A specially designed parent handbook will be provided to the parents in

advance at the commencement of the new session to give parents an

insight of what and how things will be happening in the classroom so that

parents can also take an initiative from their end and promote their child to

do well at home too.

The Parent Handbook will focus on the following points:

1. Syllabus Split: This will give parents a monthly insight of the

syllabus, which chapters will be taught in which month and how many chapter are coming in half yearly

and yearly exams.

2. Que Paper Blue Print: This will give an insight to the parents on what type of question paper will be

generated for the students in tests, half yearly and annuals.

3. Events & Activities for the Year: A calendar mentioning all the activities and special celebrations,

including house wise competitions will be provided in advance to the parents so they can be aware in

advance about the happenings in the school.

4. Examination Schedule: A pre-planned examination schedule will be given to the parents where they can

get to understand the current examination policy and dates of the examinations planned.

Student Package:

The student package will comprise of the following:

1. Mental Aptitude Worksheets: These mental aptitude worksheets will be planned in order to develop the

reasoning skills for the students. These worksheets will be as per the age wise pattern followed in various

grades.

2. G.K Worksheets: These worksheets are a handmade wonder which have been specially planned to make

G.K a wholesome learning experience where rather than teaching students about the world initially they

are given an opportunity to learn about their own country and their own states in detail.

3. Life Skill Activities: In a constantly changing environment, having life skills is an essential part of being

able to meet the challenges of everyday life. To cope with the increasing pace and change of modern life,

students need new life skills such as the ability to deal with stress and frustration. These activities deal

in Anger Management, Basic Etiquettes, Handling money etc.

4. HOTS: In order to improve the learning skills of each student, we have taken an important step in this

aspect. We believe that instead of making the students cramming up the things, it is better to make

them understand well. Therefore, special questions will be developed to make sure that the students

prepare in such a way that they read the entire book instead of the important points for the sake of

passing the exams. These questions will work towards the development of the creativity and high order

thinking skills.

5. Paper blueprint: This will give an insight to the children on what type of question paper will be generated

for the students in tests, half yearly and annuals.


6. OTBA Questions: The importance of recalling and remembering cannot be denied in the teaching

learning process. Based on knowledge of facts, figures, events, etc., that the learner is able to further

process it, derive meaningful information and apply to new situations for further enrichment and

extension of his learning. In order to promote these skillset OTBA are being introduced in the classrooms.

7. Question Banks: These question banks are based on the 7c’s of the learning which cater to each and

every vertical of the learning horizon and promote an effective learning and assessment in the

classroom.

8. Mind Maps: Mind mapping is simply a diagram used to visually represent or outline information. It is a

powerful graphic technique you can use to translate what's in your mind into a visual picture. Since mind

mapping works like the brain does it allows you to organize and understand information faster and

better. Students are given an opportunity to learn making this effective memory retention tool for

effective learning.

Artificial intelligence is that activity devoted to making machines

intelligent, and intelligence is that quality that enables an entity

to function appropriately and with foresight in its environment.

Artificial Intelligence is the development of computer systems

that are able to perform tasks that would require human

intelligence.

The field of AI is shifting toward building intelligent systems that can collaborate effectively with people, and

that are more generally human-aware, including creative ways to develop interactive and scalable ways for

people to teach robots. These trends drive the currently “hot” areas of AI research into both fundamental

methods and application areas:

Large-scale Machine Learning concerns the design of learning algorithms, as well as scaling existing

algorithms, to work with extremely large data sets.

Deep Learning, a class of learning procedures, has facilitated object recognition in images, video labelling,

and activity recognition, and is making significant inroads into other areas of perception, such as audio,

speech, and natural language processing.

Reinforcement Learning is a framework that shifts the focus of machine learning from pattern recognition

About Money Smart School

This is an initiative of the National Centre for Financial Education to provide

unbiased financial education on schools for improved financial literacy. The

program is based on two pillars – Education & Awareness.

This Money Smart School Program aims to establish a sustainable financial

literacy campaign that will empower an entire generation.

Why Money Smart School

Financial Literacy is as much about financial behaviour and attitude as it is about financial knowledge.

By providing financial education at a young age, we can help students develop the right behaviour and attitude

towards money to make them financially responsible citizens.

Most school students are making financial choices now. Many shop online, pay their mobile and internet bills,

are eligible to have accounts at financial institutions. Financial education can help them grapple with these adult

choices they already face as teenagers.

Features of Money Smart School

We invite schools to voluntarily introduce financial literacy as a part of

their existing curriculum for students of Class VI to X

We will provide the school, free of cost study material for students of Class

VI to X, a set of five Financial Education workbooks, jointly developed by

NCFE and CBSE.

The Financial Literacy Curriculum has been developed in such a way that

it integrates with the existing subjects for different classes.

We can arrange training programs for interested schools at their own

premises.

These trained NCEF certified Money Smart Teachers would facilitate in

conducting financial education sessions for students in their respective schools.

Students will participate in NCFE’s National Financial Literacy Assessment Test for evaluation purpose.

Schools may also decide to conduct their own evaluation in which case we will provide them necessary

support.

The schools implementing this program will be certified as Money Smart Schools

A certificate and a badge will be issued by NCFE which the schools can put up on their website and social

networks.

Your kids leave home to board the bus to school and

you don’t know whether they have boarded the bus or

the bus has reached school. The very same thing

happens during their journey back from school. If the

school bus get delayed due to traffic blocks or other

unforeseen delays, parents often get anxious.

Sports & Fitness Program must be inculcated as a habit in their daily regimen from a very young age.

We have a research based age specific NASPE (National Association for Sports and Physical Education) approved

age & grade specific structured curriculum & Equipment's for Physical Education and Sports for the holistic

development of the children.

The Program caters to the students of Kindergarten to 10th Grade. We provide standards-based activities, skill

cards, task cards and templates required for effective deployment of the curriculum. The lesson plans are

implemented for the entire academic year in a structured and phased manner. The same is based on the

school’s time-table with a judicious mix of fitness and sports skills. The curriculum is integrated into the school's

current physical education program and deployed during school hours and after school hours.

The equipment provided are age-appropriate and designed specifically for each activity. We have special “Rainy

day Limited Spaces” activities for children/days where access to the playground is not possible. The equipment

provided is as per international standards.


The Sports & Fitness Program is conducted during school hours in the school premises and is executed by a

Physical Education Specialist stationed full-time at the school. The role of the PE Specialist is to conduct and

support the actual delivery of the program as well as to conduct assessments. All PE Specialists undergo in-

depth, professional training and certification. The PE Specialist will be completely responsible for creating

documentation and reporting the same to parents and school management.

We conduct an on-going rubric based skill assessment of the students during the Sports and Fitness Program.

The Performance Rubric Assessment is used to document and guide the learning process. The Assessment

systems are easy to understand, simple to use and effective for physical education teachers, class teachers as

well as the parents. It stimulates a process that assists in reporting and collecting feedback from the parents

and helps to assess the child’s health and fitness
