1  to  1  Support  

Digital  Tutor  

General  Volunteer  

We  have  a  number  of  ways  in  which  you  can  volunteer  with  us  all  of  which  are  needed  to  ensure  we  support  people  in  different  ways.    1  to  1  support  Some  people  in  the  borough  are  bound  to  the  home,  carers  or  require  more  specialist  1  to  1  support.      This  would  require  a  commitment  of  2  hours  per  week.    Digital  Tutor  Maybe  you  would  like  to  do  a  li1le  bit  of  tutoring  and  deliver  more  structured  sessions.    Usually  3  x  2.5  hours  in  a  classroom  environment.    Great  to  get  on  your  CV.      This  would  require  a  minimum  commitment  of  3  hours  per  week  and  a  maximum  of  16  hours.    General  Volunteer  We  are  always  out  and  about  promoKng  the  benefits  to  ge^ng  online,  running  taster  sessions  at  libraries  and  at  events.    Maybe  you  would  prefer  to  be  an  ad-­‐hoc  general  volunteer  and  just  pitch  in  when  possible.  This  would  not  require  a  firm  commitment  but  we  will  email  you  as  and  when.    Social  Media  Volunteer  As  a  technology  project  we  are  keen  to  make  the  most  impact  using  forms  of  social  media  like  Facebook,  Twi1er  and  YouTube  as  well  as  our  own  website  www.getcaerphillyonline.org.uk.    Maybe  this  is  something  that  you  have  experience  of  or  would  like  to  gain  the  skills.  This  would  require  a  commitment  of  2  hour  per  week  or  on  as  and  when  basis.    Admin  Support  As  a  funded  project  we  need  to  complete  quite  a  bit  of  paperwork.    Becoming  an  Admin  Support  Volunteer  with  us  would  provide  you  with  skills  that  would  benefit  you  and  us.  This  would  require  a  minimum  commitment  of  2  hours  per  week  and  a  maximum  of  7  hours.

Volunteering  with  Us  -­‐  Process    

Although  we  like  to  keep  things  simple  and  enjoyable  we  have  a  duty  of  care  to  ensure  the  people  we  help  are  safe.    With  this  in  mind  you  will  need  to  complete  a  brief  interview  and  CRB  check,  which  can  take  up  to  6  weeks.    You  will  then  receive  training  if  required  and  shadow  a  member  of  the  team  before  taking  ownership  of  sessions  alone  but  with  the  support  of  the  team.        On  some  occasions  we  will  all  be  together  encouraging  people  in  the  borough  to  get  online  at  various  events  both  organised  by  ourselves  and  others.    We  would  be  delighted  if  you  wanted  to  join  us  in  making  the  project  a  huge  success  and  ensuring  people  in  Caerphilly  are  not  leO  behind  but  are  able  to  enjoy  and  reap  the  benefits  of  gePng  online.
