“Globe’s designated RPO team leader led the delivery team for a very significant recruiting effort for our mine, port & rail operations. The skills we needed were specialised and scarce and the positions numerous and yet the team delivered. The Globe team leader was able to ensure excellent communication, provide quality people and manage her people on the ground while managing expectations. The approach was solid, the commitment evident and the results followed. ”

Steve Allard, VP Infrastructure - African Minerals Ltd

Globe 24-7Company Profile

Globe 24-7Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO)Relying on traditional, multi-agency methods for bulk recruitment is expensive, inefficient and often, very disorganised.

RPO programs aim to improve efficiency and quality whilst reducing costs and process gaps. An RPO program is typically initiated when there is a large-scale staffing requirement with a pre-determined deadline. It is driven by agreed deliverables and service level agreements, to ensure the program is completed to schedule.

Globe’s RPO solution is to ‘parachute’ in a specialist team to act as an internal recruitment function, to manage parts of, or the entire staffing process. Typically this includes centrally managing sourcing, interviewing, short-listing, offer preparation and on-boarding. The RPO program lead usually works at site, coordinating with hiring managers, which allows site HR to focus on other priorities. During the program, Globe trains local staff in best-practice recruitment, so the process is transferred at the program conclusion.

Globe 24-7Benefits of an RPOBest Practice Recruitment: Globe draws on years of international experience in the resources industry and applies it to each program, by building and implementing quality recruitment systems, processes and practices for the client.

Transparent & Measurable: RPO programs always have a meaningful suite of stakeholder reports, regularly communicated to highlight project status, including vacancies, placements, on-boarding, point of hires, costs and other agreed metrics.

Partnership: Globe’s RPO team ‘wears the hat’ of the client, embracing company culture and ensuring each recruit is focussed on organisational fit.

Cost-effective: An RPO program can save 20% - 70% compared to traditional multi-agency models on similar large-scale programs and numerous cost-effective pricing models can be designed.

Recruitment Experts: Through outsourcing a recruitment program, Globe takes responsibility for providing a dedicated, multi-lingual and expert team including a Project Manager, Project Recruiters and support staff to work exclusively on each RPO program against measurable SLA’s and KPI’s.

Prioritised Focus: Globe typically manages each RPO program at site level so that the recruitment program is at the heart of the operation, ensuring Hiring Managers can be quickly sought, communication expedited and decisions made on time.

Project Solution: Each RPO program is for a definable period of time, commonly during project start-up or expansion phase when an influx of staff are required. Globe’s RPO team has a clear mandate to achieve set deliverables of sourcing high volumes of qualified personnel.

A multinational supplier of excavators and trucks for the coal mining industry, servicing the East Coast of Australia, required an international recruitment partner to urgently source 40+ mechanical and electrical fitters for their growing operations.

Globe’s Perth-based team worked with Globe’s London office to execute a large scale sourcing program throughout Ireland, Scotland, the United Kingdom and New Zealand resulting in 650+ applicants screened and preferred candidates interviewed.

After an exhaustive ten week program, the placement quota was achieved and visa processing commenced. At the six month review, there was 100% staff retention.

“I would like to thank Globe 24-7 for all the help and the personal attention given to us in our move here, making the process very smooth. I would recommend Globe 24-7’s services to anyone who is considering recruitment and the move to Australia.”

African Minerals Limited, an iron ore company headquartered in London, required a master vendor to manage expatriate recruitment for its multi-billion development of a deposit in Sierra Leone and related rail and port infrastructure.

• $3Bn - $4Bn brownfields (mine) and greenfields (port & rail) project

• 200 km rail and port infrastructure in central Sierra Leone

• 120+ expatriate staff required within 6 months for first shipment to China

Globe coordinated a team from its African, Australian and UK offices. A dedicated Recruitment Manager was seated in-country in Sierra Leone and liaised between AML and Globe’s external recruitment team.

172 roles were filled within twelve months. Successfully placed candidates originated from Australia, South Africa, the UK, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, China, Lebanon, Mozambique, Kenya and Zambia.

“I had the good fortune of working with the Globe 24-7 team on sourcing the right people for the Port and Rail Operations in Sierra Leone. They were able to bring a high level of recruitment assets and skills whilst we developed a HR function and team from the ground up. It was great to allow the local Pepel recruitment team to recruit locally and for the Globe 24-7 team to compete in the global labour market which they do so well.

Equally important was the ability of the team to transfer skills, knowledge, and the professional ‘edge’ to the Pepel recruiters on processes and structures. The crowning moment was seeing the Globe 24-7 team conducting joint interviews with the local recruitment team as ‘one function’ - brilliant and what it is all about when building capability in African operations.”

Thompson Creek Metals Company is a mid-tier North American mining company with two large operating molybdenum mines, a large copper-gold mine under construction, a stand-alone metals roasting facility, and a number of additional metals properties development in the USA and Canada.

Thompson Creek’s Mt Milligan Copper-Gold project in northern British Columbia was moving toward operations in 2013 and in November 2012, Globe 24-7 was engaged as their RPO partner to source 200+ vacancies before production.

The RPO was being managed by an experienced on-site Project Manager, supported by a team of project recruiters who sourced domestically in Canada and globally filling 212 processing, mining, technical services, finance and administration vacancies.

“We are very excited to be working with Thompson Creek Metals to develop their Mt Milligan project in northern BC. They have a great reputation in the North American market and our project team are looking forward to being a part of their team during this RPO.”

Lachlan Spicer, CEO, Globe 24-7.

“I worked with the Globe team on site, recruiting a wide range of specialised mechanical personnel for the Port operations at Pepel in Sierra Leone for African Minerals. I found the team to be very efficient, professional and knowledgeable with the hiring of my staff; they recruited in excess of 30 expats for our department. Candidates they shortlisted were discussed with me in detail prior to interview to ensure they met our requirements and before any interviews took place they clarified any questions I had about the candidates and had everything in place, notified the applicant about the process prior to our interview and there where never any issues with applicants missing their telephonic interviews. I recommend Globe 24-7 to any company for their recruitment requirements.”
