Global Leadership Summit News Edition Three Dear Members and Friends of SBC It is now just 20 days until Willow Creek's Global Leadership Summit comes to Scunthorpe. It could be tempting to see this as a good opportunity to host a conference which will save us travelling to another site. However, it is so much more than that. Hosting the GLS in Scunthorpe is part of a wider vision to see our region changed and the Kingdom come. If this is to happen then we need local churches and other organisations involved in the community to be at their very best. In turn, if this is to happen the leaders of those organisations need to be inspired and equipped to lead at even higher levels. We believe that the GLS can play an important role in seeing that happen. It contains great content for church and secular organisations alike, meaning all leaders can benefit from it. Please keep praying for the event, but also keep inviting people. You may come into contact with leaders in many different places across the community who would benefit from attending. Why not grab a leaflet and give them a personal invite? Rich Webb Lead Pastor Special Guests WCA give each host church 10 free tickets to invest in local and regional leadership. We are pleased to confirm that local MP Nic Dakin will be with us for part of the day on Friday. Our other guests are John & Margaret Brewster (The Well, Retford), John & Liz Hansford (JIBC), Diane & Derek Tidball (EMBA), and from the local area Paul Edworthy (Foundry Church), Peter Liley (St Peter’s), and Mat Hussain (BBC). Global Leadership Summit News Edition Three

Dear Members and Friends of SBC

It is now just 20 days until Willow Creek's Global Leadership Summit comes to Scunthorpe.

Rich Webb

Update from our Prayer Co-ordinators

Prayer is the most vital aspect of the GLS, and we are really happy and privileged to be Prayer Co-ordinators for this global venture at SBC.

We hope that you have been praying for the specific GLS prayer needs included in the church notices each Sunday. Everyone is invited to attend two specific SBC prayer meetings leading up to the Summit. The first is on Monday 24 October at 8.00 pm in the crèche, the second on Tuesday 1 November at 7.30 pm in the Sanctuary.

During the event prayer will take place in the comfort of the upstairs lounge. It will be set up for intercessors to pray for, and with, the delegates and volunteers, and to pray during each conference session. There will also be areas set aside to enable delegates to enjoy times of quiet reflection and solitude.

Remember, unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labour in vain - our prayer is that God will use the GLS to build and strengthen His House across our region.
