CUTTING DIRECTIONS NOTE: Apply fusible web product to wrong side of selected fabrics, following manufacturer’s instructions, before cutting for fusible appliqué. Fabric 1:
• Cut 3—6-1/2" x 6-1/2" squares • Cut 12—3-1/2" x 3-1/2" squares • Cut 6—Owl outer eyes
Fabric 2: • Cut 8—3-1/2" x 3-1/2" squares
Fabric 3: • Cut 4—3-1/2" x 3-1/2" squares • Cut 3—Owl bodies
Fabric 4: • Cut 2—3-1/2" x 24-1/2" strips • Cut 2—3-1/2" x 18-1/2" strips • Cut 6—Owl wings • Cut 6—Owl eyeballs • Cut 3—Owl noses
Fabric 5: • Cut 1—26" x 26" square
Fabric 6: • Cut 1—24-1/2" x 24-1/2" square

SEWING DIRECTIONS 1. Iron fusible web to the wrong side of your appliqué fabric. 2. Cut out the Owl shapes as indicated in the cutting directions. 3. Fuse Owl shapes onto the Fabric #1, 6-1/2" squares as shown in the pillow photo to make
three Owl blocks. Finish edges of shapes by hand or machine. 4. Lay out two Fabric #1, 3-1/2" squares and two Fabric #2, 3-1/2" squares for 4-Patch block
as shown. 5. Pin and sew together. Press seams toward darker fabric. Make four 4-Patch blocks. 6. Repeat Steps 4 and 5, using two Fabric #1, 3-1/2" squares and two Fabric #3, 3-1/2"
squares to make two 4-Patch block. 7. Lay out Owl blocks and 4-Patch blocks in three rows as shown in the pillow diagram. Pin and
sew blocks into rows. Press seams in opposite direction for each row. 8. Pin and sew rows together. Press seams in one direction. 9. Add 3-1/2" strips to sides first, then top and bottom of pillow center. Press seams toward border.
QUILTING AND FINISHING 1. Layer pillow front with batting and Fabric #5 square. Pin or baste layers together. Quilt as desired. 2. Place the Fabric #6 square atop the pillow front, right sides together, and edges aligned. 3. Pin and sew the pieces together using a 1/4" seam allowance. Leave a 10" opening to turn the pillow right
side out. 4. Turn right side out. Insert pillow form. Hand stitch opening closed.
