District Warden' s Report65th Armual District` Convention
S acranento, CaliforniaJune 26-29,1997
Mr. Chairman, Past Supreme Lodge Officers, Past District Governors, Members of the District LodgeDelegates, Chapter Officers, and Delegates. Greetings!
This is my fist year in the District Lodge, and I want to thank my brother AREPANS foi=having givenme the opportunity to serving them as their District Warden. It has been truly an honor, privilege, andpleasure to serve District 21 under the leadership of our District Governor, Charles Spyropoulos
My duties included the following: to have the custody of au properties of the District Lodge, topreserve and protect the archives of the District Lodge, attend visitation meetings, and perform otherduties and responsibilities assigned to me by the District Governor. Recently, I was appointed by ourDistrict Governor to be a contact person for Headquarters for the mentor program. The goal of thementor program is to develop a professional network within the AmpA family to recruit and retainambitious, young members I am looking forward to your support in making such a program a successl
I attended visitations to five of our Chapters this year as weu as the Spring Conference in Son Jose, theDistrict AREPA 2000 Workshop in Eu[ Grove, and District Lodge meetings in Sacramento andStockton. I have made many new ffiendships during this past year and have come to better understandmany of the chanenges that lie ahead for our Chapters, District Lodge, and the AIEPA falnily I wantto encourage our Brothers to continue to support the District's position on the 22 specificrecommendations concerning the AREPA 2000 that will have a significant impact on local chaptersThe Order of AREPA is definitely changing and we must all be prepared to accepr such changes. That's what AREPA 2000 is all about.
The mentor program recognizes that one of the greatest challenges involves attracting and retaining newmembers lf we are to survive as an organization, the members must become actively involved in suchan endeavor. That is the reason the mentor program was created. Through our active participation, wecan make the AREPA family even stronger. It is not going to be easy, but this is not the first time theAREPA finily has been confronted by a challenge, and once again we shall meet such a challenge.
I am looking forward to our District Convention in Sacramento to discuss some of the urgent issuesthat lie ahead for the AREPA family While many other ethnic organizations are expanding, we, hikemany businesses, seem to be downsizing and merging. Let's put a stop to such a trend, and continue towork towards perpetuating the ideals, values, and principles of AIIEPA and Heuenism.
Fraternally,

Hr. Chairman, Members of t.he Supreme Lodge, I)istrict Lodge,Delegates, Brother AHEPANS: Greetings !
I would like €o thank the District Governor for entrusting mewith the position of Advisor to the Sons of Pericles. Also, Iwould like €o thank the Chapters that I visit.ed with the'Distric€Lodge (six) for their hospitality ancl brot.herly love. I wouldlike Eo report €o you that I had four meetings wich t.he DistrictLodge of the Sons of Pericles including Brother John Konstantinewho is a member of the Supreme I.odge, and John Wood, the DiscriccGovernor of the Sons of Pericles. I highly reccrmend that in t.hefuture, these two bro€hers be considerec] for po§i€icins ofresponsibility in t.he AHEPA District Lodge, such as DistrictAdvisor €o the Sons of Pericles.
Two of the meetings were held in,the oakland Church, one washeld in San .ose, and one in Belmon€. The meetings with theJunior order were very productive and well attended, and theirfuture lcok§ brighter. My brother AHEPANS, we, the senior order, must provide them with underst.anding, assistance, and share theirfuture hopes. As all of you know, we are the present, they arethe future. Without new blood, the Order will decline andeventually will not be a organization that we can be proud of .
I would like to ask the delegates of this convention Cosupport and encourage tberi in every possible way, so that the Sonsof Pericles can proudly remember us in the years to come. I hopethis Convention will be successful and produccive for our Order.

REPOPIT OF THE DISTRICT LT. GOVEl]Nof]
June 16,1997
Mr. Chairman, Past Supreme Lodge Offieers, Past Distrk# Governors, Members Of>trle DistrictLodge, Chapter Officers, and Delegates.
It has been an honor. privilege, and pleasure to serve District 21 as your District u. Governorunderthe leadership of our District Governor, Charles Spyropoulos. Ithank the delegates to the64th annual Distn.ct Convention hek] in Stocklon, CA this past year for electing me to this office.
I attended visitations to 7 Of our Chapters this year as well as the conferences, Christmas party, and other chapter functions and meetings. I have made many new and renewed many oldfriendships during this past year. It has been a year that has filled me with a sense fire to take ourorganization to new heights.
You and I are trie real strength Of our Order. We will see levels Of success never bofore attained inour 75 years of existence. Our goal to bring in new members and serve our people and our nationwin be again be rewarded with personal satisfaction. We win see the wonderful success of oursupport of education, that brings about truth and justice.
I look foiward to expanding the cuiTent programs so that the name OPIDEF} OF AHEPA becomessynonymous will the ideals that all civilized societies admire and strive to Teach. I hope to soon seeour Greek independence day flag fly high over c.rty halls, and county seats, as well as state andnational capitals.
I wish to promote our TRAVELEFl publication, as well as national communieation vehicles to informand persuade not only Hellenes, but Philhellenes and enemies alike. By promoting the ideals ofour forefathers, we can change the world.
To achieve this, we must be united as brothers, sisters, sons, and maids. There has never been amore needy time in history to show our unity and promote the code that we`as Ahepans live by,We will find peace through strength and courage in the future just as we have in the recent pastwith the threat and challenge posed to Ahepa by Gekas and his fellow coconspirators.
I look forward to serving as your District Goverrror in 1997re8 to help in any way I can to keep us asthe premier organization of Hellenes in Ameriea.
Again, thank you.
Fratemally yours,
ft--Stephen Bolaris
