Yaama, Athletics Carnival

This Friday is our annual Athletics Carnival. We have many talented athletes in our school and our carnival is a great way for them to show off of these talents. The carnival is being held at Magpie Park and will commence at approximately 10:00 AM. It would be great to see our community supporting our kids.

Housie

This Thursday will be the school’s first Housie competition. The competition is designed to engage the community within the school. At the event will be fundraisers and school information. I hope to see you all there.

Aboriginal Boys Dance

In response to the communities’ interest, the school has engaged Leo Hooper to lead an Aboriginal boy’s dance program. The boys are very keen and have been practising hard. Their first performance will be to open NAIDOC Week for the school on the 27th June.

School Canteen

The school is still very keen to attract more volunteers to help in the canteen. If you can spare a few hours a week and would like to volunteer in the canteen, please contact the school.

As always, please come to see me at the school if you have any questions or concerns.

Yama from 5/6!

We are having a very busy 2nd term. We have had Lincoln & Trevor proudly represent our school at the Primary Schools Regional Rugby League Trials in

Tamworth. Braidon & Lincoln also did exceptionally well at the recent Barwon Cross Country held at the school. The Boys along with Shaquiel (Yr3) will be heading off to Coolah shortly to compete at the next level. Well done to everyone who competed on the day. A big Congratulations to Naioka on delivering her Sorry Day message last week you did an exceptional job!

In Math we are busy learning about 3D space and making some fantastic 3D Nets.

In Science we are being Change Detectives and exploring reversible and irreversible changes. We’ve been working together, experimenting and having lots of fun!

During Fruito we’ve been reading Awful Auntie

Reminder:

The Outback Challenge is on Wednesday next week with students from years 3-6 heading off to Bourke to compete. A little preview of the girls’ team training.

Congratulations to these students who have made it through to the Regional Cross Country in Coolah on the 17th June. Mr Banks
