Dear GPS FC Bayern Players/Families, Congratulations on your invitation to the GPS FC Bayern West Residential Camp at UC Santa Barbara. The information contained in this packet is important to your experience at camp. The total cost is $495 with three installments of $165 each. The $165 initial installment is due by March 17th. The next two installments of $165 each will be charged monthly, depending on your registration date.

KEY INFORMATION The GPS FC Bayern West Residential will be led by FC Bayern Club Affiliate Director of Coaching John Devine, who will be assisted by highly qualified male and female Head Coaches. The residential camp will focus on various levels of training on and off the field for our elite GPS FC Bayern West players including, but not limited to;

Player Education

FC Bayern Curriculum- Systems of Play (7V7, 9V9, 11V11)

The Elite Player Preparation The residential camp will be hosted at the University of California, Santa Barbara and will offer GPS FC Bayern West players the opportunity to prepare, learn the FC Bayern curriculum and play at an elite level training camp. During the course of the four days, players will experience the simulation of living, training and playing on an NCAA Division 1 soccer campus, similar to that of any Division I collegiate athlete.

KEY INFORMATION CONTINUED Accommodations: Players will be staying in the beautiful Tropicana Gardens Residence Hall. All GPS FC Bayern staff members and parent chaperones (background check approval) will be staying in the dorms (players, staff, and chaperones will be in separate rooms) to ensure that all players are safe and obey the UCSB residence hall policies. GPS FC Bayern West staff will conduct roommate selection. Meals: All meals are served at the dining hall on campus, and campers will have many healthy food options to choose from. If your player has medical dietary needs, please contact Operations Manager Michelle Wing as soon as possible. Transportation: Due to liability, we cannot arrange rides for campers. A Google Doc will be set up, and invites sent out to all parents so that arrangements for ride sharing can be made. WHAT TO BRING Below is a list of clothes, equipment and personal items required for camp. Please note that if your player does not already own a red Bayern jersey and the Bayern West loungewear, these items will need to purchased from Soccer Pro via a link provided after registration. Neither GPS FC Bayern West Residential Camp nor UCSB are responsible for lost or stolen articles. MEDICAL STAFF/TRAINER Our GPS FC Bayern West Residential Camp will have a fully qualified athletic trainer on staff 24 hours per day. The staff responsible for medical care must hold any medications presently prescribed to your son or daughter. Medication must be accompanied by a Medication Authorization Form so that it may be dispensed correctly. The Medication Authorization Form will be provided in a separate email, along with the camp health and release waivers. The coaching and medical staff monitors every injury, however minor. Even so, some players love camp so much they attempt to “hide” injuries so that they may continue to play. Parents are seldom fooled. If you gain any indication from a telephone call that your child is more injured or ill than they may appear, please inform the staff. MEDICAL FORMS The Health and Release Waivers, along with the Medication Authorization Form, will be sent out in the month prior to camp. Please print out and bring TWO (2) copies of each form and bring to player check-in at UCSB on June 18, 2017. CHAPERONES NEEDED Chaperones would be responsible for a designated group of players throughout the camp, keeping them on schedule/ensuring that they arrive on time for meals and practices, as well as washing uniforms each evening. Chaperones would eat meals with the players, participate in after session activities, and supervise until lights out. Chaperones will be provided with lodging and meals free of charge. All chaperones will need to be cleared via fingerprinting/background check. If interested in chaperoning, please contact Michelle Wing. OTHER AFFILIATIONS The GPS FC Bayern West Camp will attract players from across California. This is an excellent opportunity for elite California male and female players to interact, train, and share this experience with players from other GPS FC Bayern West affiliation clubs.

FAQ’s

Where will my child sleep? Players stay 4-9 per suite in two to three bedroom suites. Assignments are made by the staff based on player age and/or position. Players are under constant supervision, as chaperones will reside on the same floor to ensure player safety. Below is a floor plan of a typical three bedroom suite:

What will my child eat? Your child will receive 3 meals a day, with all food supplied on-site, including evening snacks. What should I do with my child’s medication? There will be a qualified athletic trainer at registration to collect the parent signed Medication Authorization Form and medications. The athletic trainer will be staying on site for the entire camp. Should I bring snacks? You are encouraged to send your player with non-perishable snacks such as protein bars, beef jerky, etc. Evening snacks will also be provided for all players. Should I send my son/daughter with any money? No money is required for the camp.

A LOOK AT THE FACILITIE OVERVIEW The GPS FC Bayern West Residential Camp will be located on the beautiful University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) campus. Players will stay on the UCSB campus for the duration of the camp. Players will train at high quality NCAA Division I soccer facilities, work collectively with their assigned age group, and follow a professional training schedule designed and led by GPS FC Bayern West Coach and Almaden Soccer Technical Director, John Devine.
