Non-Fiction Texts
In reading, we have been learning about non-fiction texts and their features. Today you will be watching a video and listening to the non-fiction book

Remember, you can pause and re-watch different parts of the video as many times as you like.
Once you have watched the video, complete the following questions in your home learning book. Make sure you write the date and the title of the book.

• In your Home Learning scrapbooks, write the Title- Koalas and the date.
• Read (or have someone read to you) the Information Sheet about Koalas.
• Next, scroll down to your writing groups Fact File with the dot points.
• Then, write the heading Introduction-
• From your fact file choose the facts that tell you what kind of animal the koala is. Write the facts in full correct sentences.
• After, write the heading Appearance (what it looks like)-
• From your fact file choose the facts that belong under the heading Appearance. Write the facts in full correct sentences.

Koala Fact File – you are going to use the facts from the fact file
to write your own information report for the Koala. You
need to write the facts by making a sentence from them.
eg: only eat gum leaves
Koala’s only eat gum leaves.
Please follow the instructions on the daily planner.

• sleep during the day
• awake at night
• only eat gum leaves
• don’t drink water
• are mammals
• are marsupials
• have grey fur
• 4 strong limbs for climbing
• sharp claws
• has a pouch
• live in Eastern Australia
