Happy end of the semester everyone! It has been a wonderful semester for the Panhellenic Council. We are all very
proud of what we have accomplished this semester: a successful formal recruitment, the colonization of Alpha
Omicron Pi, and the addition of a new executive position on our executive board that focuses on sisterhood relations
within the six Panhellenic chapters. We recently returned from the Association of Fraternal Leadership Values (AFLV)
West Conference in San Diego where we all learned a lot! Many of us not only learned about how to be more effective
leaders in our positions but also gained a lot individually to help us grow. We are looking forward to the fall semester,
which will be full of preparation as we look towards another successful spring recruitment. We’ll also have a large
focus on spreading awareness of all the positives that being Greek has to offer. Have an exciting and safe summer and
we can’t wait to hit the ground running in the fall! – Lisa hall, Panhellenic President
Are YOU our next Panhellenic Recruitment Counselor? Being a recruitment counselor is one of the most pivotal positions to have during formal recruitment. With a week full of emotions, potential new members are looking to these women for guidance and support. Formerly known as "Rho Gammas", this year we are re-vamping the entire program and incorporating more of a leadership and team
building approach. Not only will Recruitment Counselors impact the lives of other women, but also bond with many women in different chapters. This is a great experience to meet new people, attain leadership skills and grow as an
individual. We are searching for the most qualified women that love to help, consult, and impact others. If you think you have what it takes, WE WANT YOU! You must have gone through formal recruitment on your chapter's side in order to be chosen. Applications for Spring 2015 formal recruitment will be available in late August 2014.

Delta Xi Phi Delta Xi Phi Multicultural Sorority Inc was founded April 20th, 1994 at the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign. We live by our five pillars: Advancement of Women Through Higher Education, Community Service, Increasing Multicultural Awareness, Sisterhood, and Friendship. All sisters of Delta Xi Phi are encouraged to academically succeed making it a point for all sisters to be encouraged to graduate in good stands within our sorority and the school. We helped give back to the community by volunteering at Habitat for Humanity by dedicating our time to help paint the outside of a home for the Hernandez Family. On the week of April 14-‐18 the Ladies of Delta Xi Phi held a Cancer Awareness week, "Show you care. Be Aware." Throughout the week we tabled for different forms of cancers and helped educate the public. The Ladies of Delta Xi Phi also had the pleasure to volunteer at the Barry R. Kirshner Wildlife Sanctuary alongside the Ladies of Upsilon Kappa Delta. The Ladies of Delta Xi Phi hope to see you around!

15 Things That Being Greek Has Taught Me
When people ask most Greeks what we learned in college, we all have the same answers: “I learned how to network,” or “I learned how to be a leader,” or “I learned how to be confident.” Don’t get me wrong, these are
great skills to develop and have, but they also make Greek life sound like a convention or a workshop. I won’t say that everything I need to know I learned from being Greek, but almost everything I need to know is something I
learned from being Greek. So, to the seniors and the postgrads looking for nostalgia, the PNMs wondering what going Greek is really like, and the newly initiated sisters finding out what sisterhood really is, here is what I’ve learned from being Greek.
1. It’s always better to be overdressed than underdressed.
2. Having power is a privilege, not a right. 3. If you want something done right, assign it to a busy girl.
4. There is a huge different between a reason and an excuse. 5. You’ll never meet a more critical group of people than your sisters.
6. One day, you’ll thank your sisters for being so critical, because it made you that much better. 7. Yes, stereotypes exist for a reason. No, not everyone fits into one. Figure someone out by getting to know
him or her, not his or her stereotype 8. Never half-ass a mixer costume. People will judge you.
9. Crafting automatically improves any relationship. 10. You will embarrass yourself, so just laugh it off.
11. Reputations highlight your negative qualities, so don’t let yours bother you or change the way you act. 12. The camera may add 10 pounds, but you can post to take off 15 13. Your big may not know it all, but no one does. Still listen to her.
14. Do it for the story.
