Greeting

「三菱商事アート・ゲート・プログラム」

2008 年にスタートした本プログラムでは、卒業後3 年未満の若手アーティストによる作品を公募し、

1点 10 万円で三菱商事が購入します。購入した作品は、三菱商事社内及び社外での展示の後、

チャリティー・オークションにて、一般の方々に販売されます。1万円からスタートするので、どなたにも

親しみやすいオークションとなっています。そしてオークションで得られた売上は、プロのアーティスト

を志す現役学生の奨学金となります。（落札金額が 10 万円を超えた場合、超えた額の半分は出品

したアーティストに還元し、残り全額を奨学金の原資とします。）

本プログラムは若手アーティストの今後のキャリア形成につながるゲート（登竜門）となるべく実施して

いますが、来年度からはよりアーティストの育成に重点を置いたプログラムにリニューアルすることを

計画しています。（詳しくは webサイトにてご報告します）

三菱商事は引き続き若き才能が開花し活躍することを願い、本プログラムを継続していきますので、

ご支援のほどどうぞ宜しくお願い申し上げます。

PREFACE The Mitsubishi Corporation Art Gate Program ("MCAGP") was launched in 2008 as a philanthropic activity to foster the development, and help the careers of individuals aspiring to become professional artists.

MCAGP purchases artwork created by students and recent graduates of fine-art related universities, at the price of 100,000 yen per work. After exhibiting the works inside and outside the company, MC sells the works it purchases through a charity auction that is open to the public. Proceeds from the auction are pooled and distributed as scholarships to current art students.

MC intends to continue supporting young aspiring artists and is currently planning a renewal of the current format to focus even more on the development of young talented artists (details to be released via the Program’s website). We appreciate your continued support towards the program and our ongoing philanthropic efforts.

This is one of a series of city scenery in which neon lights and lights from signboards melts and becomes vague. The motif is a view from a high place such as an airplane and a scene which one descends to and looks at.

二面性をテーマに作品化しました。対になる2点を、色や素材、シルエットや意味合いを対比させ、この2点が並ぶことで1つの作品となる面白さを感じながら制作しました。素材は大学院で学んでいる古典技法の要素を入れつつ、表現は現代的になるようにしました。


This work has the theme of duality. The artist contrasted the colors, materials, silhouettes, and meanings of the two pieces that make up a pair, and made the work feeling the fun of one piece by arranging the two. The expression has been modernized while the materials are incorporated with the elements of classical techniques she studies in graduate school.

アオアシカツオドリはガラパゴス諸島に分布している鮮やかな青色の足と求愛のダンスが特徴的な鳥です。日本には生息していませんがネットでその姿を見ることができます。でも本当はどんな青色をしているのか私には分かりません。


A blue-footed booby is a bird native to the Galapagos Islands which is characterized with its vivid blue feet and its courtship dance. It does not inhabit in Japan, but you can see it on the internet. However, the artist does not know the true blue color of it.

聖書における七日間の天地創造の物語で繰り返し使われているフレーズ「夕べがあり、朝があった」から着想を得て制作した。地球を想起させる半球形に、変わり塗り技法を用いて「夕べと朝」「終わりと始まり」を絵画的に表現した。


The artist created this work, inspired by the phrase "there was evening and there was morning," which is used repeatedly in the story of the seven days of the creation in the Bible. "Evening and morning" and "the end and the beginning" are pictorially expressed in hemispherical shapes reminiscent of the earth by using the change coating technique.

光と影を意識し、絵画と箔の空間性を考え、日本の道端で見かける植物をモチーフに制作しました。葉の形がそれぞれ違い、光の中で輝いて、個性的な我々人間みたい。幸運を象徴するてんとう虫が飛んできて、平凡な日常に小さな幸せを感じている。


The artist created the work with a motif of ordinary plants seen on the roadside in Japan, by differentiating the light and shadow and considering the spatiality of painting and foil. Each leaf in a different shape, shining in the light, looks like a unique human being. A ladybug, a symbol of good luck, flies and brings a little happiness in everyday life.

The artist is interested in recording his actions. He records his daily actions with a body-mounted camera and selects several scenes from over a dozen hours of the movie. He creates pictures based on the composition of them.

これは稼働することのない永久機関が組み込まれた夢の機械の設計図である。不可能と知りながらも、まだ見ぬ遠い宇宙へと交信を試み続けるアンテナに、孤独な人間の姿を投影している。


This is a design drawing for a dream machine into which a perpetual motion machine is incorporated, which cannot operate. The artist projects a lonely human figure as an antenna, which is considered impossible but keeps trying to send a signal toward a distant universe never seen before.

彼女たちの、ベールで隠された心のうちを表現したいと思いました。日本画画材の質感と、中東の砂漠やタイル装飾に親和性を感じモチーフに選んでいます。


The artist desired to express the women's hearts hidden by the veil. She chose the motif because she felt the affinity between the texture of Japanese art supplies and the desert and the tile decoration in the Middle East.

「悠遠に続くみちの途中で、わたしに寄り添うひかりをみた」。南イタリア「マテーラ」と“みち”をモチーフとして制作しました。下地に洋金箔を使用する事で、光によって異なる表情をみせる作品となりました。


"I saw a light coming along with me on the way to the eternal path." The artist painted the picture with the motif of "Matera," south Italy and "the way." By using Western gold leaf on the base, it became a work that shows different expressions depending on light.

悲しい気持ちや、もやもやした思いを風に流し、今日を新しい気持ちで生きようというメッセージを込めて制作しました。日々の消化しきれない思いを抽象的なフォルムで表し、屋上から飛ばすイメージを描きました。


The artist aims to show a message of letting one's sad feelings and uneasy thoughts flow in the wind and then making a fresh start today. She expressed her everyday indigestible thoughts in an abstract form and drew an image of flying them from the rooftop.

ナショナルギャラリーの前で見ていた雪の上に残る足跡。誰かが歩いたその軌跡は積もりゆく雪と共に、瞬く間に儚い記憶と化す。人々の吐息が生む振動、風、そしてその軌跡とが交わる瞬間を繊細な線画で表現した作品。


Footprints on the snow found in front of the National Gallery. The trajectory of someone's walking, along with the falling snow, quickly becomes a transient memory. This is a work that expresses with delicate line drawings the moment at which the vibrations, winds, and trajectories of people's breath intersect.

記憶の中の曇りの光景を再現するため、手作りの紙の粗い質感を利用して記憶の不完全性や霧がかった感じを表現しました。この作品のイメージは記憶の正確な再現ではなく、記憶から変換された心象風景です。


The artist expresses the incompleteness of foggy memory with rough texture of handmade paper to recreate the cloudy sight in her memory. The image of this work is not accurate reproduction of memory but imagery converted from memory.

富山ガラス造形研究所 2017年卒業TOYAMA CITY INSTITUTE OF GLASS ART


割れたガラスを置いた上からインクで着色し、ステンシルのような技法で制作しています。ガラスにしか出せない割れた形の面白さや線の動きを、シンプルに伝えたいと思っています。


The artist put the broken glass on the campus and colored it with ink onto the glass and made it with a stencil-like technique. She intended to simply convey the fun of broken shapes and the movement of lines that can be formed only by glass.

私達はささやかなものを見落としがちであると思います。私はそのような存在に目を向け続け、制作を行いたいと思っています。


We tend to overlook the little things. The artist would like to keep an eye on them and create the work.

生まれの岐阜県で撮影した。僕は役者をやっている。映画の世界に魅力を感じている。小さい頃からスクリーンに見える景色には感動があった。ここではドキュメンタリーと映画の世界が繋がっているように感じる。


The artist took the picture in his home town, Gifu. He is an actor, fascinated by the world of cinema. He has been impressed by the scenery on the screen since he was a child. He feels like the real and the cinema worlds are connected.

皿の表面にできる光の反射や皿の重なりなど。偶然出来た表情、形に興味を惹かれ描きました。


The reflection of light on the surface of the plates, the overlapping of them, and so on. The artist was drawn to the expression and shape that came out by accident.

風が気持ちよくて目に入るもの全てが淡い色彩に包まれた土地でした。簡単に行ける距離ではないですが、私の頭の中で悠と々存在し続けている町です。


It was a place in pale colors in a gentle breeze. It's not a town with distance easy to go, but a town that still exists in the mind of the artist.

たくさんの糸を重ねた作品をシリーズとして、私は制作しています。この作品では、黒色が作品に及ぼす影響を探求しました。白糸に様々な色で着彩をほどこした後、さらにその上に白糸を重ねて黒い塗料を塗っています。


The artist creates a series of piled yarn. She explored the effect of black on the work. After coloring the white yarn with various colors, white yarn was overlaid and then colored in black.

The artist would like to express complex human mentality, such as emotions that are difficult to express in words and emotions that are difficult to confide, beautifully with the delicate colors of rock paint.

2019年8月に広島県を訪れました。（左）広島市内にある広島城に訪れた時、城の濠の鮮やかな青を背景に木々を撮影しました。

（右）宮島にある弥山に登山した時、山頂の近くの大きな岩に囲まれた小道を撮影しました。


The artist visited Hiroshima Prefecture in August 2019.

(Left) When he visited the Hiroshima Castle in Hiroshima city, he photographed the trees against the vivid blue of the castle moat.

(Right) When he climbed Mt. Misen in Miyajima, the artist took a picture of a path surrounded by large rocks near the summit.

A butterfly, which is tempted and danced by the scent of sweet fruit, also attracts somebody else. The artist herself is also fascinated by the small animals and plants living hard in nature.

東京・渋谷の夜の街を描いた。道行く人たちは皆お喋りか音楽に夢中で、誰一人わたしのことなど知らない人ばかりだ。わたしは少し離れたところから、そういう人たちの姿や街の灯りなんかをぼんやりと眺めるのが好きだ。


The artist depicts the night city of Tokyo, Shibuya. Everybody is crazy about chatting and music and no one knows her. She likes to see those people and the lights of the city in a daze.

浜辺に群生していたハマヒルガオを描きました。国産の丹羽シルクに蝋染めして、日差しのきらめきや夏が始まる高揚感を表現しました。


The artist drew False bindweeds that grew in colonies on a beach. She dyed Japanese Niwa silk with wax to express the sparkling sunshine and the exhilaration of summer.

九州産業大学大学院 2018年卒業KYUSHU SANGYO UNIVERSITY


（左）海の出現により多種多様な生命が誕生したとされています。そんな生命の源である海を表現しました。

（右）山に降った雨水が表土へ染み込み、長い時間を掛け川から海へ流れる。


(Left) It is said that the emergence of the sea has created a wide variety of life. The artist depicts the sea, the source of life.

(Right) The rainwater falling on the mountains has soaked into the topsoil and has flowed from the river to the sea for a long time. In that state, the artist feels the blessing of nature and expresses it.
