During the visit of the Historial, the guide will explain the events and mentalities of these days. In the afternoon2.30pm: Circuit du Souvenir (remembrance tour of the Great War) with an English speaking guide: Thiepval, Rancourt chapel maintained by the "Souvenir Français" association; South African memorial and museum in Longueval; Pozières tank memorial; the Lochnagar crater Great Mine in La Boisselle, National Australian memorial in Villers-Bretonneux, the Somme-1916 museum in Albert...

Back to Peronne, end of the day at approximately 6.00pm.

A programme for those interested in the First World War. You will hear the explanations of this period from an enthusiastic guide and discover the main historical sites and memorials of this important part of our history.

Day 1:In the morning:

Breakfast 10.00am: The guide will be waiting for your party at the Historial in Péronne (Museum of the Great War). You will visit the Historial and the guide will explain the events and mentalities of these days. An unprecedented experience, the result of an historical research campaign carried out in France, Great Britain and Germany.12.00am: lunch at the Historial of Peronne: Pack lunch (sandwich with ham or cheese – crisps – 1 drink)

In the afternoon

1.00pm: Remembrance tour of the Great War with an English speaking guide: The South African memorial and museum in Longueval; Pozières tank memorial; Thiepval, the Lochnagar mine crater at La Boisselle,

5.00pm: Back to Peronne.

Dinner in a restaurant in Amiens.Accommodation in Amiens in a twin room.

Day 2: In the Morning:

Breakfast 10.00am: A ride in the small Froissy-Dompierre Tourist Train (tourist steamtrain), which will take you along the canal, up the hill (across the woods and through a tunnel), then down to the marshes. Conducted coach ride in the Upper Valley of the river the Somme and over the eel-ponds. Panoramas on the river, old mansion-houses...

12.00am: Lunch in Albert: pack lunch (sandwich – chips – fruit – cake – 1 drink)

Day 2:In the afternoon:

1.30pm: Somme 1916 Museum: a visit of the diorama about the Great War, in the shelters of Albert: underground galleries dug in the 16th century and turned into anti-aircraft shelters.

2.30pm: Leave for the Newfoundland Memorial Park of Beaumont-Hamel, with its caribou overlooking the trenches. Then, the Ulster Tower, a memorial of an unusual type, and Thiepval, the major British Memorial of the Battle of the Somme.

5.00pm: End of our services.

Dinner in a restaurant in Amiens

Accommodation in your hotel in Amiens in a twin room.

Day 3: In the morning:

Breakfast.10.00am: A conducted visit in a flat-bottomed boat in the Amiens Floating gardens "Hortillonnages" on the branches of the rivers Somme.

11.15am: guided tour through the city in your own coach.

1.00pm: lunch in Amiens (main course – dessert – wine –coffee)

In the afternoon :

2.30pm: Guided visit of the cathedral of Amiens, the biggest in the world, twice the size of Notre Dame of Paris.

4.00pm: Free time in Amiens and end of our services.
