The Grupo SIFU Foundation is a non-profit organization aimed at promoting and encouraging the social and labor

integration of people with disabilities. To do this, it works in three specific areas of action:

• Upgrading your skills & competences (knowledge, abilities) = developing your CV (Resume) = increasing your employability

• Key elements for developing a training plan:

• It needs to fit the job position (job description= tasks & responsibilities involved).

• It needs to be an ongoing process = throughout the employee’s career

Open labour market inclusion – Employer Engagement

Job search & applications support:

• Some service users will be successful and shortlisted on regular

recruitment processes and be recruited through this path.

• For others (higher needs, not strong CV’s…) – Employment

engagement it’s a MUST.

Employers engagement: “employment Hunt”, “sharing experiences”, “Word of

mouth”…

• Knowledge of your employer environment (cities, rural areas, job profiles,

requirements, etc.)

• Prepare your “employer sales pitch”:

• Explain the values of your company, your goals, fact check, provide

successful cases, explain the benefits to employ people with

disabilities, explain the services you offer them, reassure them, etc.

• Your goal: to persuade and convince them to give your service users

an opportunity to join their company.

• Be natural, show passion about what you do, be certain, show

commitment and trustworthiness.

• They are not “buying a product” they are agreeing and committing

to provide job opportunities and equal opportunities with your

help.

Open labour market inclusion – Employer Engagement

• Approach & target employers which match your service users profiles:

• Ex. Service user with “sales/ retail” profile ---- employers to approach: supermarket, retail shops, shopping

centers, etc.

• Focus your employment engagement in “mirror/ similar” companies – SIFU: Facility Services (BCL, ISS…).

• Easy, agile, achievable.

• The new employer will see it as a natural transition to open labor market .

• Ex. Cleaner employee (Grupo SIFU) → Cleaner employee (BCL).

• ETT – New model – Social Temp Agency (Abanti ETT):

• “Stepping-stones” strategy for companies to integrate people with disabilities in their businesses.

• They will be directly recruited initially by the Temp Agency.

• At the end of this period the organization will be able to hire the employee directly if the performance has

been successful.
