Spread a little magic

As the chilly weather closes in an

d we wave

goodbye to shorts, summer fruit c

ocktails and

outdoor dining, Christmas provide

s a beacon of

light to get us through the winter m

onths.

However, the festive period prese

nts the most

frantic time of the year for the cate

ring and

hospitality industry where venues

are devising

ways to bring the crowds in from t

he cold.

This season’s trends are varied w

ith a

combination of traditional and con

temporary

influences ranging from vintage-st

yle crystal cut

glassware to fashionable copper it

ems.

Of course, no Christmas would be

complete

without a little fizz. Just like prose

cco bubbles,

fizzy wine sales continue to rise. T

he prosecco

craze is expected to continue this

Christmas and

a reported 35 million bottles of wi

ne are set to be

consumed throughout December.

Plan ahead by checking when the key Christmas dates lie and anticipating the kind of

custom you’ll get on each day. With Christmas Eve on a Saturday this year, many

people will be working right up to Friday evening and will be ready for a celebratory

drink after work.

Candles are a great way to add festive magic to the tabletop whilst those with longer

burn times offer better value for money and prevent expiration mid-service. Our Bolsius

Eight Hour Nightlights are a hassle-free, long lasting solution

Stocking two sizes of champagne flutes can increase profit margins. Providing large

flutes when serving bubbly by the bottle and serving individual glasses of champagne

in smaller vessels will both encourage further sales.

Sherry, port and brandy are festive favourites so

investing in appropriate glassware is a worthwhile

endeavour. Usually served after dessert, these tipples

help maximise Christmas revenue.

Make it a traditional Christmas with classic

hiball and Old Fashioned crystal cut glassware. Look to

our Hobstar and Spiegelau ranges for classic styling

with a contemporary edge.

Copper is the material of the moment this Christmas,

with its warm metal tones perfectly

complementing cosy festive themes. Copper

barware can be seamlessly integrated into any venue

with a taste for what’s trendy.

Henry Stephenson“Crackers are always a big seller

at Christmas, but recent years

have seen sales increase quite

dramatically. As a result of this, we’ve

expanded our range, and it already

looks set to be another strong xmas.”

G & TTREND

With top designers touting detailed glassware as a top

trend for Christmas, Stephensons has seen massive

growth in customers looking for more quirker tumblers.

Venues can be sure to inspire creative cocktail

presentation and impress customers with the Bossa Nova

collection’s distinctive woven glass design. With a unique

texture encouraging light to shimmer across its surfaces,

these glasses are strong, durable and dishwasher safe.

Following the season’s glassware trends, colour schemes

are taking a turn for the traditional in 2016. Gold and

silver are in this Christmas, and venues will be celebrating

with a bang courtesy of our range of Duni & Swan

Christmas Crackers. The sparkling 11 and 12 inch crackers

contain a range of exciting new items including traditional

gifts, games, hats and jokes, and make the perfect

finishing touch to a festive tabletop.

The spirit of Christmas will have a distinctly botanical flavour this year as gin continues its rise to the top of the glass.

This fashionable beverage is best served in our Juniper StemmedGin Glass. The full, rounded bowl can comfortably hold ice and garnishes, whilst the stem prevents hot hands touching theglass and warming the drink. The tapered edge prevents aromasescaping too quickly, and the glass’ strength and durability willmeet the demands of the most challenging conditions. Ideallysuited to classic gin & tonics and cocktails alike, the Juniper offers the oversized capacity (24oz / 68cl) and wide opening required to help garnish the beverage.
