EMC Celerra Manager—simplify your IP storage environmentwith Web-based managementEMC Celerra Manager provides simple, Web-based management, enabling you to easilydiscover, monitor, and provision Celerra systems. Two editions are available based on yourbusiness requirements—choose from the Basic Edition that supports the most-commonadministrative tasks, or the Advanced Edition with extended management and monitoringcapabilities. Regardless of which Celerra Manager solution you select, you get easy-to-use,Web-based management that helps save time, boost efficiency, and cut costs. In addi-tion, Celerra Manager features secure management through an easy-to-use Web-basedbrowser GUI, command-line interface (CLI), or Microsoft Management Console (MMC).

Celerra Manager also integrates with the EMC ControlCenter® family of enterprise-classstorage resource management software allowing you to manage your entire mixed hetero-geneous storage infrastructure from one control panel.

Celerra end–to-end ease of useCelerra provides ease of use across the entire storage management process to simplifydaily storage management—from installation to support and beyond. The following listshows the key end-to-end, ease-of-use capabilities that Celerra offers.

• Install with the Celerra Startup Assistant (coming soon). With only 10 screens, thestartup assistant gets the Celerra online quickly and efficiently. Celerra StartupAssistant provides streamlined connectivity verification, array registration, initial filesystem creation and sharing—all managed from an intuitive wizard-driven interface.

• Manage and configure with Celerra Manager. Celerra Manager features CelerraAutomated Volume Management that enables you to provision a file system optimizedby workload in only four steps. The administrator simply enters the file system nameand size, selects the workload type, and Celerra Automated Volume Managementdoes the rest—saving time and valuable resources.

• Thin provision with Celerra Manager. Celerra Virtual Provisioning takes only two steps:first, set the logical size and second, set the high-water mark. File systems and iSCSILUNs can be logically sized to required capacities and physically provisioned with lesscapacity resulting in storage that doesn’t sit idly in a file system or LUN. Provisioningis simplified and capacity utilization is improved.

• Monitor and tune performance with Celerra Manager. Celerra Manager features“at-a-glance” status monitoring that helps quickly monitor and proactively identifyperformance issues. Additionally, Virtual Data Movers help load-balance the Celerrato efficiently achieve performance objectives for applications.

• Move and migrate stale data with Celerra FileMover. Transparent to the end user orapplication, Celerra FileMover API enables the integration of policy engines, such asEMC DiskXtender® for NAS and EMC Centera® File Archiver, to quickly and efficientlyautomate file movement between multiple storage tiers.

• Upgrade, support, service, and maintain with proactive monitoring and health checktools. Verify deployment before and after any upgrades to lower risk and make surethe system is running smoothly. By taking health checks at regular intervals, thesetools proactively identify potential problems before they cause disruptive unplanneddowntime.
