Page 2: Habit 6

Synergy happens when a group of people work

together to come up with a more effective solution than just trying to solve it on their own. It creates a

better, higher way to achieve something

Page 3: Habit 6

No one person in the group is better or

stronger than other. Everybody is different

but each person contributes in an

effective way.You have strengths some other person doesn’t and

they have some you don’t.

“Alone you can’t accomplish as much as you can when you work together and harness your differences to achieve something great”

ShunAfraid

Only the way

they do things is

the “right way”

to do itEnjoy being hurtful and rude to those different

from themselves

Page 6: Habit 6

Tolerate

Believe everyone

can be different

Don’t shun

but don’t

like

differences

Like to keep

to

themselves

Don’t have

synergy

Last year in my P.E. class there was this Chinese girl who was new. There was rarely anybody at my school that was Chinese or any other race rather than

Caucasian. So everybody ignored her because she was different, they didn’t make fun of her, but didn’t accept her. We just, tolerated her.

to celebrating differences

Page 9: Habit 6

A few years ago, a new girl from India came to my school. Everybody was rude to her and kept making rude Indian-like

gestures toward her. She became so depressed that she switched out of our school.

Ignorance

Being clueless to the differences of others;

Don’t get other people’s differences

Page 11: Habit 6

Cliques

Different Types of Cliques

Like to be with people just like them

Become so exclusive, they start to reject everyone

Page 12: Habit 6

Treating someone badly because they are

different

“Laugh as much as you choose, but you will not laugh me out of my opinion”

Page 13: Habit 6

1.Define problem

2.Hear out the other person’s ideas or ways

3.Tell your way or idea

4.Brainstorm to come up with better ideas

5.Discover the best solution

Page 14: Habit 6

Teamwork Different types of people in a

group:

Plodders: don’t stop until the job is completely finished

Followers: go with any good idea but really don’t care

Page 15: Habit 6

Innovators: creative, artsy, imaginative people

Harmonizers: great synergizers; make everyone get along

Show off’s: add spice and momentum to the project, but can be hard to work with

SummaryHabit 6 is all about synergy. It explains that you

can achieve more together than apart. Also, differences among us all is an effective addition

to creating the best solution to a problem or project. We have to celebrate those differences, not pretend they don’t exist or criticize others

for not being exactly like you. Synergy is everywhere and we need to be apart of it. It helps us find new and more efficient ways to accomplish things. There is an action plan in

order to get to synergy and find the best solution possible. You first define the problem,

then you both tell your ideas or ways, brainstorm to come up with better ideas. Then

figure out the best solution.
