simple idea: to provide a community center for hackers, thinkers and technologists to meet, discuss, learn and create--non-profit, volunteer-run, member-supported--24/7, work, side-projects, meetups, classes, hangout--community center, clubhouse

the first 2 of the five, david and I, started superhappydevhouse. so it’s not just influenced, it came directly from devhouse, which means it inherited many values, people, etc

steve eventually convinced sun to convince us to do a devhouse there for 25. later, 30th... biggest one. that was where dojo was publicly pitched. “devhouse all the time”
