to everyone who provided bars, salads, and silent auction items for the Mier Benefit. Also I cannot say
enough good words about the great help we received from our youth groups and everyone who helped set up, serve, and clean up!! I could not have done it without you! I really appreciate all of you and want you to know how special each and every one of you are!!! Joy and John voiced their appreciation numerous times!! Again, Thank you. This is a great community to live in!! May God continue to bless you.

Belated wishes to all!
Dear Church Family, I hope you had a good Easter with your family and friends. Everyone in my little family is doing well. This month, one thing you should be aware of, is that I am applying again for a grant to fund my renewal leave. If you recall, we did it two years ago and our application was not approved. After visiting with the SPRC and Ad Council, we've agreed that we could do it again. There's a possibility for my application not to be approved this time too. In case we get the grant, however, I will be gone from June to August in 2019 (next year). But, if we don't get it, I will only be gone for a month (June 2019, soon after the annual conference). This process will take me back to the experience I went through two years ago. It reminds me of prayer. You say a prayer to God by faith, but the outcome isn't really in our power, is it? You only wait while you continue praying. Waiting is a difficult thing to do for all of us. On your own, I’d encourage you to read Acts 1. In this scripture, the Risen Lord, Jesus Christ, tells the disciples how they should wait for God's promise. Out of His words, we can learn three things that can help us wait. First, be in the right place. In the case of the disciples in the first century, Jesus commanded them to stay in Jerusalem. It was the place where the temple was. Major religious events took place in Jerusalem. This town represented the place of worship. Be and wait in a position of worship. Second, stay together. The disciples lived in the community. They shared in Christian fellowship with each other. Be in the faith community: church, small groups, youth groups, Sunday school, etc. Last, but not least, live well. They committed themselves to faithful living. This lifestyle is the one that's grounded in daily prayer, Bible study and serving others. Easter, which is an ongoing celebration, is a reminder that no matter how long the wait, God's plan for us always prevails! See you in worship! Pastor Emmanuel

delivers the message.
Hooray for April! The gift of the official beginning of spring will occur this month. The church library also has some gifts to share. The United Methodist Women has continued to support the library cause. Here are three brand new books to consider for your reading pleasure and lifelong learning. Deb Morrow, Church Librarian In today’s world the quest to understand and have a significant life leads individuals to travel with adventure as their purpose. Author Amanda Lindhout did such a thing in various countries including Latin America, Bangladesh, Syria, and Pakistan. It was in Somalia that she was abducted. For 460 days she was held captive. Throughout this experience she was in a fight for her life with her most powerful weapons being hope and compassion. A House in the Sky by Amanda Lindhout and Sara Corbett is told with stunning honesty and clarity. Adventure of Ascent: Field Notes From a Lifelong Journey by Luci Shaw. “For most of us, growing older is a reality we put off as long as possible—until we realize with a shock that it is happening to us. We immediately look around to see how others on the path just ahead of us are dealing with it. So here is the intrepid Luci Shaw, taking readers on a virtual hike with her, with steps more deliberate and slow but also with surprising vistas that fill us with gratitude. These field notes will inform your own journey, no matter what your age Taken from book jacket. Good Health, Good Life: 12 Keys to Enjoying Physical and spiritual Wellness by Joyce Meyer. “Meeting the demands of your busy life may leave little time for you to focus on maintaining your personal well-being. But it is important to remember that each part of you—mind, body, and emotions—serves a purpose in God’s exciting plan for your future. Embracing a healthier lifestyle will help you fully experience all the good things He has in store for you.” Taken from back cover.
Our All-in-All
What the hand is to the lute, What’s the mother to the child? What the breath is to the flute, What the guide in pathless wild? What is fragrance to the smell? What is oil to troubled wave? What the spring is to the well, What is ransom to the slave? What the flower is to the bee, What is water to the sea? That is Jesus Christ to me. That is Jesus Christ to me.
