March 9 and March 23“Eat Right, Bite by Bite” – National Nutrition Month 2020National Nutrition Month® is an annual nutrition education and information campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. The campaign, celebrated each year during the month of March, focuses on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits. “Bite by bite” supports the philosophy that every little bit (or bite!) of nutrition is a step in the right direction. Small goals/changes can have a cumulative healthful effect. Nutrition doesn’t have to be overwhelming.

Join our Registered Dietitian, Kristen Vander Woude, to celebrate National Nutrition Month® 2020 and find out how you can “Eat Right, Bite by Bite”. It will be a two part series – part 1 will be held on March 9th and part 2 will be held on March 23rd.

THE GREAT COURSES®

The Great Courses is a series of college-level audio and video courses which offers lecture series for “a discerning community of lifelong learners who demand the best of the best.” This particular series is taught by Professor Bart D. Ehrman from the University of North Carolina who has written or edited 29 books, including four New York Times best sellers. The lectures are a half an hour in length and will be facilitated by a Life Enrichment team member.

How Jesus Became GodThe entire story of how Jesus became God is of paramount importance not only to those interested in the Christian religion for personal or historical reasons but also for everyone who has any interest in history. These lectures, part of the Great Courses series, look at the key event that promoted the idea that Jesus was God. Two installments of the series will be shown each Friday with a time of discussion to follow. This will be our last quarter as we complete this series.

Diversity in America “E Pluribus Unum - from the many, one. It’s the great paradox of America: what we have in common is diversity.” (Scott London) From the earliest settlers to the modern day, America is a nation of immigrants that have helped to shape and make us the great nation that we are. Let’s examine some of the notable groups that have impacted our history.
