Harvey the Hound Biography:Did you know that Harvey the Hound was the first official mascot in NHL history? He started as the Calgary Flames mascot in 1983 and now he is a seasoned veteran with tons of experience. He has learned a lot over the years but one thing has never changed; he values all people. No matter what age, size, shape, color or gender they are, Harvey the Hound thinks all people are amazing!

He is never afraid to try new things and meet new people. He loves reading with girls and boys in schools. He’s always up for a game of floor hockey at the annual Wheelchair Hockey Game. He learned about sailing from the Sea Cadets. He’s gone downhill skiing with the experts in the Rockies. He’s played pond hockey with local communities. He’s even helped shovel the outdoor rink at the Heritage Classic.

Harvey the Hound loves to get dressed up and pretend to be all different types of people; Michael Jackson in Thriller, Santa during the holidays, the Incredible Hulk, Superman, and even one of the Hanson brothers from the movie Slapshot. Harvey the Hound thinks that the

world is a very interesting place with so many different types of people. There are still lots of things he would like to try and many new people he is looking forward to meeting.
