GEORGE J. “DEE” DICHIARA – Class of 1945

George is a proud veteran of two foreign wars. After graduation, George enlisted in the MerchantMarines and Navy and bravely served his country during World War II. George was again called toservice during the Korean War as a member of the United States Air Force.

George was the proprietor of DiChiara’s Liquor Store in Irvington, New York. He retired in 1997after 33 years in business.

He and his wife still call Irvington home. They have been married for 57 years and have two marriedchildren and four grandchildren.

Kelly graduated from Springfield College (SC) in 1997 with a B.S. in physical education. While at SCshe played one year of Division II Basketball.

Her first job was teaching physical education, K-12, at The Cathedral School in Manhattan. She leftCathedral and backpacked through Australia and New Zealand for six months, where she became cer-tified in scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef, went sky diving and bungee-jumping in New Zealand.

Kelly returned home to a job at Horace Mann School, where she met her husband, Mike Duffy. Theymarried in November 2003 and have two sons, Michael, (2) and Ryan, (11 months old.)

Presently, Kelly teaches physical education at the Rye Middle School. In 2003, she earned an M.S. inhealth education from Lehman College.

Kelly says, “she loves being a teacher, a wife and a mother.”

MARGERY “Margy” JENKINS FISHER – Class of 1961

After graduation and a short-lived career as a nurse, Margy entered the world of banking. She wasemployed by Hastings Federal Savings & Loan as an assistant bookkeeper until 1969.

Margy married George Fisher in 1966 and after the birth of their second child, Margy became a stay-at-home mom. She volunteered at school, became a brownie leader and managed her girls’ softball league.

In 1983, she re-entered the work force, initially working for a law firm as a comptroller and later find-ing her true calling as the unit coordinator in a cardiovascular intensive care unit at a prestigious hos-pital in the Tampa Bay area.

Margy resides in Seminole, Florida, and has two daughters, Debbie and Cheryl, and an 11-year-oldgrandson. She says that “getting older has not changed her; she still likes to talk as much as she didin school.”

KAREN KOBLOSH FLAHERTY – Class of 1975

Karen attended SUNY Brockport for one year after graduation and playing on the volleyball teambefore transferring to Niagara University, where she was a two-sport, Division-1 athlete in volleyballand swim team. In 1979, she graduated with a B.S. in physical education and continued her studiesearning a master’s degree from the College of New Rochelle in special education.

She has been teaching physical education and coaching middle school and high school at the BlindBrook School in Rye Brook for more than 25 years.

Karen married her college sweetheart, Michael, and they recently celebrated their 25th weddinganniversary. They live in Hastings, have four children and are awaiting the arrival of their first grand-child.

Karen says her biggest accomplishment to date has been “combining work with raising four futureHHS Athletic hall-of-famers.”

VALERIE FRYE HARMON – Class of 1961

Two months after graduation, Valerie married Jim Harmon and within a few years had three children.

When her children were still toddlers, Val started her long road toward a college degree. In 1971, shegraduated from Mercy College with a B.A. in education. She received a Master’s in Counseling in1976 and a Master’s in Special Education in 1980 from Manhattan College.

In 1972, Valerie worked at the RISE East School for multiply handicapped students in RocklandCounty, where she designed and implemented programs to meet their special needs. In 1978, Valaccepted a position as Special Education Guidance Counselor in the Clarkstown School System andcontinued to develop and apply new programs for learning disabled children.

Valerie retired in 2004 and as a retiree, has plenty of time to be with her three grandchildren, travel,scuba dive and play golf.

LEE R. KAISER – Class of 1987

Lee graduated from SUNY Oswego in 1991 with a B.S. in education and George Mason Universityin 1999 with a M.Ed. in counseling and development. He taught 6th grade for seven years and hasbeen a school counselor since 2000 for grades 4, 5 & 6 in the Fairfax County Public School Systemin Northern Virginia.

He has successfully coached a Virginia High School State Championship Team, a Virginia HighSchool Northern Region Championship Team, in two different sports, and a championship travel soc-cer team.

Lee and his wife, Nadine, reside in Centreville, Virginia, and have two daughters, Zoe and Carson.He has continued playing a variety of sports for the past two decades, which led to a total right hipreplacement in June ’07. But, Lee says, “he wouldn’t have changed a thing.”

ERIC “TANK” KANTOR – Class of 1958

Known as “Tank” to his friends and classmates, Eric received his B.S. from Springfield College (SC)in Springfield, MA. In recognition of his outstanding performance on the playing field, Tank earneda varsity letter in football at SC. He continued his studies and received an M.A. from ColumbiaUniversity.

After a 44-year long career of teaching mathematics at Edgemont High School, including the last 11years as the mathematics department chair, Tank retired in June 2007.

As you can tell from the photo, Tank is an avid Yankees fan.

Here’s a bit of Hastings High School sports trivia and something probably only relatively few peopleknow about Tank: his all around talent in baseball got him a try out with both the Milwaukee Bravesand the San Francisco Giants in 1958.

REGINA REHAK LOCKWOOD – Class of 1955

Regina received an A.S from Cornell University SUNY College in industrial & labor relations. Aftercollege, she was employed by Philip Morris as an aviation flight dispatcher at Westchester CountyAirport. She retired from that position in 1993 and began a second career working in the office atHillside Elementary School.

Regina is a professional artist and has designed for the General Foods Corporation. Most recently shehas finished illustrating a children’s book for 4-7 year olds. The manuscript is presently with an agent,and she’s hoping it will be published and on the market in late fall.

In 1958, Regina married John Lockwood and next year they will be celebrating their 50th weddinganniversary. They have two grown sons and three grandchildren.

She enjoys working in her garden, making jam, canning vegetables and loves to draw.

STEFANIE PARROTT – Class of 1986

After graduating from HHS in 1986, Stefanie attended Dartmouth College where she studied phi-losophy, film studies and women’s studies.

Now living in Oakland, California, Stefanie is working as a real estate broker. She plays tenniseveryday and enjoys playing her bass guitar.

BERN “BERNIE” RICHARDS – Class of 1960

Bernie received degrees from Paul Smith’s College - forestry; North Carolina State University - wildlifemanagement; Syracuse University (for the U.S. Air Force) – Russian linguist. Today, a DAV.

For 35 years, Bernie has been the owner/operator of FairWinds, a Native American arts & crafts gallery;a teacher and facilitator of indigenous-themed workshops, crafts and animal assisted therapy projects. Hehas spent four years at the Green Chimneys School in Brewster, New York. Bernie self-published sixpoetry booklets between the years of 1975-1983.

He is married to Gail Keating and is presently semi-retired leading workshops entitled “Footfalls for theFour Directions” and “Feathersmithing”, a craft.

His favorite memory in sports past is “punting a football.”

After graduation, Pat attended college at SUNY Cortland where she received a BS in biology andminors in chemistry and art. Pat then attended the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Schoolwhere she conducted post graduate doctoral studies in virology. She was a Visiting Asst. Professor atthe University of Dallas then subsequently left academia and has been employed by the pharmaceuticaland biotechnology industry for the past 25 years. Pat is currently an executive for a biotech start-upventure in Silicon Valley.

Pat has never lost her love for athletics. She has participated in a number of activities since high schoolincluding running, squash, swimming and soccer. An avid road cyclist Pat had a custom road bike builtfor her not so big frame. She rides about 40 – 120 miles per week and does other strengthening exer-cises. Pat misses team sports but riding better suits her unpredictable schedule.

Pat’s traveled extensively throughout the U.S and Europe, owns three guitars and used to play profes-sionally. Pat now lives in Burlingame CA which is about 20 miles south of San Francisco with her sig-nificant other and two Abyssinian cats that run their lives.

Jordan graduated from Brown University with a degree in anthropology. In his junior year, he was amember of the 1996 Brown cross-country team that finished 14th in the nation. He spent a semesterstudying abroad in Australia and took his running to the next level – barefoot running in the Sydneyhalf-marathon.

After graduation, Jordan accepted a teaching position in South Korea and spent the next four yearsworking, studying and traveling in the Orient. During that time, he learned Korean and got his mas-ter’s degree in international relations.

He returned home in the spring of 2003 ready for his next challenge: law school. He attended theUniversity of Georgia Law School and graduated with honors in 2006. He found a job withGreenberg Traurig LP, a global law firm in NYC.

Jordan is currently employed in Greenberg’s litigation department, where he works primarily insecurities class action litigation.
