For those of you who are still learning at home, keep up the good work and don’t forget to
send in your photographs so we can add them to the newsletter.
Hello Class 1 children and parents.
Last week the children in Class 1 had a very busy week. They created their own superheroes
and designed their outfits. They also wrote character descriptions giving details of their
special powers and afterwards they made a superhero mask to take home.
The children also practised counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. They solved problems using counters and
money, watched BBC Supermovers and improved their recall using Times Table Rock Stars.

The children in school in Class 1 have been really busy this week. Here
are some of the learning activities that they all enjoyed.
On Wednesday they built gliders and had a
competition to see whose travelled the
furthest.
On Wednesday the children finished their
superhero masks. Beetleman, Rhinoman,
Jellyfish Man and Giraffe Man
The children have spent lots of time outdoors this week.
They all had their own pot of bubbles to play with as well
as our class bubble machine. It was lots of fun trying to
catch the bubbles before they burst. Jakob figured out
that they would land on his hands if they were soapy and
Henry caught some using his bubble wand.
On Thursday we learned about Australia and the different
creatures that live there. We listened to Aboriginal music and
watched aboriginal dancing. We also made some of our own
aboriginal inspired art..

Max has worked hard to complete his tricky word word searches
and he has been practising playing guitar. He and Oliver have
also had lots of fun den-building in the woods this week too.
Sophia has worked really hard on her number
formation this week. She has practised writing
her numbers from 11– 20 and has made very good
progress. Well done Sophia!

In PE we learnt to bounce and move with the ball. We
shot at different targets and some of us even managed
to score a basket!
We managed to avoid the showers and have been gardening in
our outside playground. We have tidied up our planters and
got rid of all of the weeds , swept the paths and refilled our
