VICIOUS CYCLE

In the morning simple carbohydrates (sugary refined cereals, white breads, toast, etc) cause an immediate surge of blood sugar level which results in a substantial emission of insulin. The insulin removes sugar from blood sugar, and thirst for more carbs. This cycle repeats itself 2-3 times during the day. This vicious cycle constitutes one of the major reasons for diabetes, high blood pressure and extra weight.

Belly Fat Threatens Your HealthThe image to the right reveals a male who is

fairly overweight. He has a BMI of about 40 which is morbidly obese.

Fat deposits on this scan are indicated by the beige colour. 

As can be seen, there is a layer of fat which is just under the skin right around the body. This is called subcutaneous fat and apart from causing extra strain on the heart and on the feet, it is not as big of a health risk as that which is caused by the second fat deposit.

The second fat deposit is that in the centre of the body. This is the dangerous visceral fat that we often refer to as belly fat.

Danger of Belly Fat.

Visceral fat wraps itself around your internal organs and applies pressure to them causing them to work under strain and to shrink in size.

In the instance to the right, the pressure exerted on this man's internal organs is probably close to 3 times that of normal atmospheric pressure or equivalent to being 80ft under water. His organs are slowly but surely being crushed by the pressure.

The lungs are reduced in size due to the pressure which explains why obese people often suffer from being short of breath and tire easily. They simply can not get enough oxygen!

The second and more disturbing fact is that belly fat releases toxins into the sytem called Cytokines. 

These toxins cause inflammation!

Inflammation to the heart and arteries causes a narowing of the artery and even the blockage of an artery which is a heart attack.

Heart attacks are mostly directly associated with a build up of visceral fat which causes an inflammation of the heart arteries. Smoking, diabetes and high blood pressure are other contributing factors to artery restriction and combined with obesity can result in fatal heart attacks.

 

As can be seen from the above, belly fat is extremely dangerous to your health and leads directly to heart attacks.

If you measure the circumference of your belly and the circumference is more than half of your height measurement, you may be at danger.
