Stress is part of being a college student,

Myth! There are different forms of stress

and not all of them are bad

Tips to avoid becoming ‘distressed’:

• TIME MANAGEMENT

• Stay Active

• Attend a walk-in session at the

Counseling Center

• Get a massage at Student Health

• Avoid dealing with stress in

unhealthy ways

• Try yoga and meditation

• Get enough rest

• Manage academics and social life

College weight gain is a myth, so it won’t

happen to me!

On average, students gain between 3.5 to 5

pounds while in college

Tips to avoid college weight gain:

• Be smart in the Dining Halls

• Stay active in a way that fits you best

• Develop a consistent sleep schedule

• Stay hydrated

• Avoid late night snacking and

caffeine

• Utilize on campus resources

• Registered Dietitians

• Personal Trainers

• Wolfpack HOWL

• COMMIT to be Fit

• Wellness Sessions

Everyone already made their friends during their first year of

college. It will probably be hard for me to make friends since I am

a transfer student.

I have already tried to apply for scholarships and plus,

scholarships are only for top scholars and athletes. So I

probably wouldn’t qualify anyway.

need.
