Abstract:Sexallocationtheoryassumesthatthereisatradeoffbetweenmaleandfemalefunctionsofrelativeinvestment,whichdependontheirfitnessgaincurves.Oneoffactoraccountingforsexallocationvariationissizedependentsexallocation.Totestthisprediction,wefocusedonHedychiumcoccineuminZingiberaceaethatwasextremelylackofresearchaboutsexallocationwithsizedependencyinpresent.Inthisstudy,weinvestigatedreproductivetraitsofresourceinvestmentandallocationamongfieldandtransplantedpopulationsinflorescenceandafterfloweringin2009.Combinedpollinatorobservation,regressionmodelsindicatedthat:① therewassizedependencywithinreproductivestructureallocationinH.coccineum,butnoconsistentwithSDSpredictioninfloweringperiod;② therewerenovariationwithsizedependencyinfloraldesignsize,attractivestructure,sexallocationandmaleandfemalefitnessgains,whichmightimplyspecialadaptivesignificance.
