SituationHele Mount occupies a prominent position in a private location

surrounded by its own land. The property is set within the wonderful

lush Somerset countryside of the Taunton Vale between the

Quantock Hills and the Blackdown Hills both Areas of Outstanding

Natural Beauty (AONB).

Taunton (4 miles) and Wellington (5 miles) are both within easy reach

and have a very wide range of shops and restaurants as well as

good recreational and business facilities. There are two farm shops

within easy reach of the property and a Waitrose in Wellington.

Communication links are excellent with the A38 and M5 motorway

at J26 being within 6 miles. Exeter is within easy reach to the south,

about 30 miles away, and Bristol 55 miles away.

Direct rail services operate from Taunton to London Paddington with

the fastest train taking about 1 hour 45 minutes. There are also a

growing number of flights to UK and international destinations from

both Bristol and Exeter Airport. There is also a new direct route to

London City Airport from Exeter on a twice daily basis.

The area is very well serviced for schools. In Taunton there is Kings

Hall Preparatory School, Kings, Queens and Taunton School. There

is also Wellington school in Wellington and Blundells School at

Tiverton. Millfield School and Sherborne School are both within an

hour’s drive.

For the sporting and recreational enthusiast the property is superbly

located to take full advantage of the many vast open areas that the

Quantock and Blackdown Hills have to offer together with all the

sporting facilities in the area such as shooting, fishing and riding.

Hele mountHele Mount which is not Listed, is an elegant family home

arranged over three floors (plus cellars and attic) offering

extensive accommodation. The house is in the centre of

its own land with beautiful gardens to the front and rear

and parkland beyond.

The main house is well laid out and whilst it could benefit

from some refurbishment and updating, it is a lovely family

house with good sized rooms.

The large reception hall with Minster fireplace could be a

further sitting room and it has a large oak staircase leading

to the first floor.

The drawing room has an open fireplace with a period

marble surround. This is double aspect as are all of the

rooms on this floor, looking to the front and rear of the

house, letting light flood in.

There is a good family kitchen on the lower ground floor

with ancillary rooms off and there is scope to create an

annexe within the property at this level.

The bedrooms are well laid out and include a large, bright

master bedroom suite with bathroom and dressing room

as well as a charming balcony through a set of French doors.
