Distance LearningDistance Learning offers an ideal introduction to the subject or a refresher following a period away from operating helicopters to the yacht. Our distance training offers online familiarisation of the Heli/Yacht environment. The modules are easy to follow, progress can be easily monitored and the results from the training easily obtained. A HeliRiviera certificate of course completion is provided.

MCA Accredited Training !!HeliRiviera courses have been fully audited and approved by the UK Maritime Coastguard Agency (MCA) and are Large Yacht Code 2 (Annex 6) compliant for both HLO’s and HDA’s allowing us to conduct the training aboard the owner’s yacht.!!!Shore based TrainingHeliRiviera has partnered with the International Fire Training Centre (IFTC) to provide bespoke training to meet the requirements of yacht based helideck operations. The 4 day course at Teeside, UK is composed of classroom modules followed by practical fire fighting and post crash response exercises at the school. This is conducted by an experienced yacht based helicopter pilot and the instructors provided by IFTC. A certificate of course completion will be issued by the IFTC. !!Onboard Training The 2 day onboard training course comprises a detailed presentation of normal and emergency procedures, personnel training and vessel outfitting. This is followed by onboard practical training exercises suited to the vessel. This combination ensures that your yachtʼs procedures are up to date and being correctly followed, making a safe and efficient operation. The package may or may not include live helicopter serials. Live Helicopter serials will result in an additional charge added to the package. Following completion a summary report for the yacht will be provided as well as HeliRiviera certificates of completion for participants.

Heli/Yacht Operations ManualThe Operations Manual is a comprehensive document addressing normal and Emergency helicopter operations from a yacht. The manual is a generic manual that will be customised to the yacht following an onboard vessel visit. It then becomes an integral part of the yachts Safety Management System. The manual is provided as a part of P2 and P3 support packages, and as a member of the Premium Partner Package (P3) the yacht will also enjoy the benefit of the manual being reviewed on an annual basis for as long as the subscription remains in place. !!PermitsYachts and pilots need to obtain separate permits to operate a helicopter legally in French territorial waters. The principle yacht cruising French territorial waters are the French Mediterranean and the French Caribbean. Applications for these permits can take up to 3 months to process and are included with the P2 and P3 packages upon request. Permits for other regions of the world may also be arranged at additional cost. A pilot ‘Off Airport’ Helisurface permit is necessary to operate in French territories. A single permit is included in both the P2 and P3 packages.

HangarageSecure Hangarage is available upon request in the South of France at Cannes Mandelieu airport (LFMD). One month consecutive days secure hangarage, or 10 days total throughout the year to fit with your schedule. The secure hangarage is included as a part of the P3 Package. Airport access badges can be arranged by our friendly staff. We will complete the necessary paperwork, and obtain your access pass to our airside entry gate.

Villa facilities in CannesOur facilities, located in a quiet corner of Cannes Mandelieu airport LFMD with direct airside access offers everything a pilot may require, from flight planning tools to wifi access, meeting rooms, a shower and kitchen. Even more importantly, our staff and other visiting pilots provide a huge local knowledge base for those new to the region. !!ReachWe can help you through the bureaucracy and regulations, particularly with regard to the separate pilot and vessel permits which are required for Heli/Yacht operations. We can also assist in other areas, such as buying helicopter fuel through to car hire and hotel bookings. As a member of the Premium Partner Package (P3) the reach is extended Globally, with 24/7 operations support included, so wherever you are there will be someone available to assist. !!Arrangement of ChartersHeliRivieraʼs Operations Department can arrange private jet and helicopter charter support. Prices for all charters are quoted separately and upon request. The services will be provided by third party Private jet and Helicopter charter operators. These operators form a part of HeliRiviera’s trusted partner network.
