WHO are we?
► 27 year-old, community powered nonprofit
► Donated over 8 million dollars
► Raised 1.4 mil. last year
► Serves all students … every school, every grade, every year
► Non-partisan
► Active partners with the Issaquah School Board, Administration, Labor Coalition, PTSA Council and the local business community.

WHY are we needed?
► Despite recent gains in education funding, we remain near the bottom of all Washington state school districts in per pupil funding.
► 16 million has been cut from the District budget over the past four years. Only $4 million has been recovered.
► Private support is the only way to ensure the District has the resources required to give students the dynamic, 21st century
education they need to succeed.

► Academic Enrichment Classroom
Grants to fund innovation and unmet needs.► Highly Capable Program Support for Merlin & SAGE
students.► Curriculum Support has enabled the District to adopt new
Elementary Science, Reading and Writing curriculums.► Technology Recycle Program for elementary , middle and
high school
LRC classrooms.

Struggling Students
► Pre-K/Kindergarten Summer School early intervention for students assessed as requiring extra support to begin kindergarten on par with their peers.
► VOICE (Volunteers of Issaquah Changing Education) Mentoring program serving over 300 students.
► Basic Student Needs funding to develop and support programs that eliminate the underlying issues that keep students from being successful in school.

► TEALS (Technology Education and Literacy in Schools) Partnership with Microsoft to bring Computer Science and Web Design Classes to our high schools.
► Financial Literacy Curriculum for all 8th grade students
