Stewardship of Prayer

Commitment Weekend: August 22 & 23

“Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-17

St. Paul’s exhortation to “pray without ceasing” does not mean that we must be kneeling, hands

clasped together, and head bowed all the time. Not even monks do this the entire day!

The Benedictine motto “ora et labora” means that we both pray and work. To pray without ceasing

means being mindful of God’s presence while performing various activities during the day,

whether doing chores at home, projects at work, or simply relaxing.

On this Stewardship of Prayer Commitment weekend, please prayerfully make a commitment

to God to steward this gift of prayer we have received from the Lord!
