“Pastor’s Weekend Message” “The Lord became my protector. He brought me

out to a place of freedom; he saved me because he delighted in me” (Psalm 18:19-20)

As we celebrate God’s Word this new week, we are reminded to place God first and at the center of our lives. God’s will is realized in our life every time we are gener-ous with our Church and community. When we share our talents, time and resources, we give of ourselves. In fact, our faith is actualized. As all of the Sunday readings sug-gested that God will never abandon His people, but above all, because of the assurance that we are God’s people called to be good stewards and ‘ministers’ of his many gifts (time, talents and treasures). These past two week-ends we have been called specifically to share of our fi-nancial gifts. We helped contribute to the 2017 Bishop’s Ministry Appeal (BMA). Thank you for your pledges, commitment and monetary gifts. All of your sacrificial gifts will continue to help our Bishop’s ministry and ad-ministration in the Diocese of Stockton. Please help us reach our parish goal for this year. I would like to reach it before Palm Sunday. God will bless you for your generos-ity. Also I invite you and your family this coming Tues-day to celebrate Mardi Gras. Bring your favorite dish to share. We start at 6:00pm in our Nazareth Hall. Al celebrar la Palabra de Dios hoy, tenemos que recordar que Dios es el primero en nuestras vidas. La voluntad de Dios se realiza en nuestras vidas cada vez que la reali-zamos mostrando nuestra generosidad en nuestra Iglesia y comunidad. Como todas las lecturas lo siguieren, Dios nunca abandona a su Pueblo, pero sobre todo, nos dice que nosotros somos un pueblo de corresponsales y min-istros de sus muchos dones y regalos como tiempo, talentos y tesoros). En estas semanas se nos ha hecho el llamado específico a compartir nuestros dones financieros al contribuir a la Petición Anual de Ministerial del nuestro Obispo. Muchas gracias por su generosa participación. Todos compromisos, dones financieros y sacrificios mon-etarios ayudaran a continuar el ministerio diocesano del Señor Obispo y el de su administración en la diócesis. Aunque tuvimos un buen fin de semana, haga favor de ayúdarnos a cumplir nuestra meta parroquial de este año. Todos tenemos que donar. Dios los bendiga por su gener-osidad. En otras, también quisiera invitarlos este martes, “Día de Carnaval”. Es una comida de traje. Favor de venir a entretenerse con toda nuestra comunidad. Favor de ver el horario de miércoles de Ceniza. En esta Cuaresma, oremos el uno por el otro. Gracias por su oración y gener-osidad. Bendiciones en el Señor.

Rite of Election—March 5 and 7 Pray for those who are preparing to be full members of our Church. They will be taking a significant step toward this at the Rite of Election. Bishop Blaire will formally receive those preparing for the Easter sacraments at the Cathedral in Stockton. Rito de Elección —5 y 7 de marzo Ore por los que se están preparando para ser miembros de nuestra Iglesia. El Rito de Elección es un paso muy importante hacia esta meta. El Obispo Blaire recibirá a quienes recibirán la Iniciación Cristiana en esta Pascua en la Catedral.

Adoración Nocturna: Cada primer viernes del mes tendremos Adoración Nocturna en la Capilla. Ésta será de 7 de la noche a 7 de la mañana. La primera noche será el viernes, 3 de marzo. In honor of all the Irish from the Emerald Isle in the United States and in our Diocese and in recognition of St. Patrick, I am granting a dispensation from abstinence on Friday, March 17, 2017. However all who take advantage of this privilege should be reminded that we are in the Season of Lent and that it would be well to choose anoth-er day in the week to abstain from meat in the spirit of Lenten penance. Lent is a time for prayer, self-denial and almsgiving especially on Fridays.
