Hostival - How it began

The idea for Hostival was born while Giuliano was travelling in San Sebastian and sleeping on the beach with a large group of backpackers. They had been unable to secure accommodation during the town’s weeklong Semana Grande festival and Giuliano immediately recognized a gap in the market. Twenty four hours and one three story B&B rental later Hostival, the world’s first and only nomadic hostel, was born.

During the past 8 years Giuliano Giacovazzi has traversed the globe setting up nomadic hostels at all of the worlds largest festivals. Hostival has doubled its capacity each year either by increasing occupancy or simply the number of festivals at which they operate.
