September was a great month, and I would like to welcome back all those mem- bers who may have been on vacation over the summer. The House Committee has reinitiated Friday night din- ners with a great turnout and success. Also the breakfast committee has begun again, and another stellar turnout. Bill Wolfe, PER is also back on site for Trap, so why not come on down for some breakfast, then shoot trap. For those of you who may not know, but both Sherry Perleoni, and Louise Beeghly prepare Sunday lunches at the bar, so there is plenty to do on a Sunday afternoon. Tom Herzog had the annu- al Charity Golf tournament, and it was a great success. I would like to thank him, the sponsors, and all the volun- teers. He could not have done it without your help. Tom will have a list of all the vol- unteers later in this Upstart. The “Steak/Disco” night has been postponed to later in the year. If you are interested in hosting a Friday/Saturday night dinner, please contact me or a member of the House Committee. We will gladly help you, plan, cook and cleanup. We can all do more, and stop depending on those members who do so much already for the Lodge. It is your Lodge too, so get in- volved! Tournament

Thank You! The Elk’s Charity Golf Tournament was held on September

11, 2017.

Special thanks to Dave Poulin and his kitchen crew who put

in a long day to prepare the dinner for roughly 125 players

and guest. Thank you to the players who took the time to

participate and support the Elks. Also enough cannot be

said for the members who solicited sponsors and raffle do-

nors: Jack Verravas, Peter Guida, Al Gordon, Tom Harkins

and Dennis Claffey, PDD (my administrative “go to” as

well), whose hard work brought in most of our sponsors.

Thank you to Carole Herzog, Roz Rotundo, Mary

McManus, Caroline Connors, Peggy Smith and Sally

Twachtman for doing a great job with registration and ticket

sales. Also to the Bassette family who volunteered on multi-

ple tasks!
