House Rules and Regulations  Be on time.  The company allowed tutors to be absent only three (3) times in a year provided that the tutors have to give their letters as two weeks prior notice to the office.  The Office is strictly a “no smoking, no drinking of liquor” venue. Smoking and drinking is prohibited inside the entire office.  Observe silence. Shouting, horse playing, singing, chatting or listening to music (unless one is using headphones/earphones) are not allowed.  Avoid disrupting or interrupting ongoing classes of other tutors by making noise, loud conversations or boisterous laughter.  Tutors must prepare for at least 15 minutes before the class.  Close all unnecessary windows/browsers in your computer before the class starts.  Downloading of games, video programs, flash programs and other things is strictly prohibited as it may hamper the operation because it would use up a lot of bandwidth and it will cause the slow down of the computer.  Storing of personal files such as pictures, music, movies, etc. in your USB’s and computers is strictly prohibited.  You Tube, Friendster, Yahoo Messenger and/or all similar programs and sites are not allowed to be opened in the computers unless necessary and with permission from the manager.  Do not open any web page that is not related to teaching the students.  Do not transfer any device from computers and cubicles to anywhere. This action will define as stealing.  Chatting is definitely not allowed as it will distract the tutor’s concentration on his/her class.  Using of cell phones is not allowed during class. Turn off all cell phones or put on a silent mode during the shift.  Practice the “clean as you go” rule. It means leaving the workplace clean after use.  Eating during the class is not allowed except for drinking water.  Concentrate on your class even the Korean manager watches you. Don’t talk to tutors next to you; neither entertain any unnecessary matters during class time.  Do not introduce your student to other tutor. Don’t let other tutor have some conversation with them. They want to study not to have fun and to get acquainted with some tutors.  Never leave your seats up to the last minute during class time. Students may be late sometime. Wait until the time ends.  Tutors are not allowed to go out until the last class is finished. In an emergency case, report to someone of higher position.  If your student is not yet in the classroom, never mark him absent if the class has finished yet. The student can’t enter the classroom anymore if you do it so.  If you need some help, send your comments to the admin through Skype.  Visitors have to wait at the lobby. They are not allowed to hang out in the center. Thus this is not a dating place, a party place, nor a venue for any other activity not related to teaching online.  Tutors are not allowed to entertain strangers in the center. be a friend of the manager or the head tutor. If you have visitors, the manager or head tutor willinform you of their coming.

  Don’t tell the student about Korean manager’s information.

  Do not give your e-mail address to your students. If you want to send a message to your throughour homepage (For my Tutor). Also, do not give your contact number.

  Do not share any of your social network sites to your students (facebook, friendster, myspace, etc).No adding as friends.

  Giving your student some feedback is very important.

  Never give some favor to other tutor in logging in and out from the class. Likewise, never ask sometutors to do the same thing for you.

  Do not stay or stand behind another tutor if he is having a class. The students will be destructed.

  All tutors should observe proper hygiene especially in flushing and washing their hands before andafter using the comfort room.

  Observe cleanliness and orderliness when you use the sink.

  If your students need some make up classes, inform the office, especially the admin.

  Do not inform your students that you will be absent, and then have some arrangement with them fora makeup class without informing the office and telling the student not to inform the office, too.

  If you have a video class, don’t call and have a class with your student on the phone when they haveproblem with the connection.

  Never have home based classes with your students. The IP ID can be traced up. We have agenerator here for backup power.

  Fill up a form if you have some problem during the class especially if some brownout occurred andhave it validated in the office.

  Do not ever put password to computers.

  Give priorities to tutors who don’t have computers to use. If you don’t have a class, give way and letthem use the computer.

  Check your computer and accessories in your station before and after using them. You will becharged for any loses and damages during your shift.

  Control the volume of your voice while having classes. This may cause destruction to other tutors.Students always complain of some noise. Always remember that there are tutors who have theirclasses also.

  A log book is provided for you and for visitors. Remember to log in and out whatever the purpose of coming.

  Inform the office at least three (3) hours before the class if you can’t attend to it or if you will be late.

  Tender your letter ten (10) days prior to resignation. Your salary will be on hold if you do notobserve this rule.

  Do not tell your students any of your personal information.

  Do not play games with your students even if they ask you for those.

  Turn off the computers and fans after your classes to conserve energy.

  Bringing of laptops, deadly and blade weapons is strictly prohibited. In casa a tutor needs for a knifefor peeling or slicing food, he may ask it for it from someone of higher position.

   Keep an eye to your belongings. The company is not responsible for any loss of your things.

Penalties are as follows:

  1st

offence – written warning.

  2nd

offence – written warning + an explanation letter (to explain oneself within 24 hours).

  3rd

offence - the office will decide whether the explanation is accepted or not. If the incidence has occurredtwice, the office has the right to dismiss or terminate the contract.
