How to check out a library book?

Investigate
• Look around for signs or maps for a sense of direction
• It will make the process run smoother
Consult Catalog
• A computer terminal that has everything from books to journals
• Search for a variety of subjectsex: author, topic, title
• This is important because you want to make sure they have what you’re looking for
Make sure book isn’t checked out
• There is a variety of options you have if your book is not in
• Online copy, it can be ordered, or it can be in another library on campus
Make notes
• Non fiction is usually shelved separately by some classification system like the Dewey Decimal System
• Fiction books are arranged alphabetically by the authors last name
• Write the call number so you can decide what part of the library to go to
Go find the book
• Follow signs • There will be labels• Follow the number code• Check out the book!!!!
