• Jagodina town is located in the Central part of Serbia and it is the seat of Pomoravlje region .
• The municipality of Jagodina:
• 71.195 inhabitants
• 36.092 lives in the town
• 35.103 in the villages
• 70% agricultural area
• 52 villages.
• Most of the rural population are farmers.

• The Public library in Jagodina - tradition longer than 163 years in sharing of knowledge and education of people.
• Public library in Jagodina is a parent library for Pomoravlje region.
• It covers and supervise wide network of libraries, including rural libraries and represents the library-information hub of Pomoravlje district.

• The project AgroLib-Ja was launched by the Public Library in Jagodina in April 2010 and still is ongoing.
• The project started with support of EIFL (Electronic Information For Libraries ) within PLIP (Public Library Innovation Program).

• launching a website• creative marketing through mass media, print, TV and electronic media• making and distribution of business cards to farmers• using social networks, forums and blogs • using the relevant information of project partners • promotion at conferences nationally and internationally

Key achievements of AgroLib-Ja
• Today, over 900 farmers regularly visit the rural libraries and use the
AgroLib-Ja services
• Agricultural journals and literature / enhanced farmers production
• Agricultural lectures / enhanced agricultural production. To date, the libraries hosted 37 professional lectures with 23 speakers attended by 1,791 farmers.
• Increased farmers’ ICT literacy through IT training, using computers and Internet in the libraries. To date, over 200 farmers have attended ICT training.
• The financial situation of farmers improves through advertising on the online marketplace. In three years the AgroLib website had more than 90.000 visitors
