The EBC hybrid TEFL course is a blend of online training and a two week teaching

pracce course given at our training centre in Madrid.

The online TEFL course component is idencal to the online TEFL course EXCEPT

that the observed teaching pracce menoned in the online TEFL course is re-

placed with a two week teaching pracce course in Madrid.

We do not want to repeat the same content, so please read the Online TEFL

course brochure for full details about the online TEFL course component.

Please also IGNORE the Pros and Conssecon at the end of the Online TEFL

course brochure. The result of taking the EBC hybrid TEFL course is the same as

aending our four week full-me TEFL course.

THE EBC HYBRID TEFL COURSE

There are two components

1. Online, trainer supported learning500

2. A two week teaching pracce course in Madrid750

The total cost is the same as our four week full-me course.

You must pass the online course before you take the teaching pracce course.

You pay for each component separately so you do not need to pay for it all at

once.

The main benet of the hybrid course over the online TEFL course is the teaching

pracce course.

Quality schools consider teaching applicants with online cercates as inferior to

those who have a cercate that includes actual classroom teaching pracce.

The hybrid course gives you the best of both worlds. A small saving on expenses

because you will only need to pay for two weeks stay in Madrid rather than four

weeks. In addion the hybrid TEFL course awards the exact same cercates as

the four week full-me TEFL course in Madrid.

HYBRID TEACHING PRACTICE COURSE

Aer passing the online course you will take the 80 hour teaching pracce

course to learn the praccal skills you will need to teach eecvely.

The course is intensive and includes 16 hours of teaching pracce, 4 hours ob-

serving experienced teachers and the compleon of 6 wrien assignments.

Teaching pracce is observed and criqued. You will deliver lessons that you wil

create to non-nave English speakers. You will get feedback so that you know

how you are progressing and help you prepare for the moment when you go solo

in your teaching career.

You will be taught how to communicate eecvely using dierent methods and

media. The EBC training style demands acve and pro-acve student parcipa-

on. Your ability to work in a team is essenal.

An essenal part of our TEFL TESOL teaching method is the ability to explain and

teach in English supported by classroom aids, body language etc. For this reason

you are not allowed to use the local language when you are teaching.

Your nal grade is based on 3 key areas:

1. Teaching pracce performance;

2. Successfully completed wrien assignments and lesson plans;

your classmates and trainer before you teach your actual teaching pracce class

You will be taught language analysis and usage, theory and praccal applicaon,

You will teach 8 x 1 hour classes to non-nave English speakers. You will teach

your pracce classes every Thursday and Friday aernoon.

Your teaching pracce is composed of the following:

Eight, one hour teaching pracce classes given to groups of non-nave Eng-

lish speakers;

Supervised group teaching pracce;

Peer group teaching;

Feedback.

WRITTEN ASSIGNMENTS

Part of your online course was to create 4 lesson plans. When you aend you

must bring these as they will be the basis for your rst 4 lessons. The rest of the

wrien assignments must be completed before the end of the 2 week teaching

pracce course.
