MathA little about Itineris’ Math Department background:

• Bachelor’s Degrees & Master’s Degrees• 50+ years of teaching experience• Thousands of students taught• Lots of experience and expertise • We know what skills are required to be successful in math • We spend a great deal of time making sure each student is

placed correctly• We really care about our students

Page 12: I TINERIS E ARLY C OLLEGE H IGH S CHOOL W ELCOME C LASS OF 2017!

•Our overall goal is for students to be ready for college level work.

•We will challenge and advance students as fast as we can without working beyond their capability.

•Final placement is determined by the Accuplacer score (must have a qualifying math AND reading score to qualify for college math courses), previous courses and grades, as well as individual consultations.

“Math Paths”Information about placement can be found on the green paper in your packet.

There is some flexibility in the paths and in placement, but we have a great deal of experience and expertise in assessing student performance and we spend a great deal of time making sure each student is placed correctly.

Please note that each of these paths includes college math enrollment or college math readiness.

• High School Graduation #1 Priority• College & Career Readiness Focus• A pathway for every individual’s needs, abilities, and

motivation• Pathways differ in the amount of college credit earned.

Emphasis is placed on quality of credits earned, NOT quantity! The path to an associate degree is not a race.

• Colleges are more interested in a student who earns 20 college credits with a 3.8 high school GPA than a student who earns 62 college credits with a 2.8 high school GPA
