WHAT IS IGEM?

International Genetically Engineered Machine

Having received a kit of biological parts from the iGEM Registry, we start to build our biological systems over the summer.

The perspective of the Jamboree in November at MIT and the project design is exceptionally motivating, in addition to the fact that this is a good learning experience.

THE PROJECT: MODELING PART-AIM

Molecular dynamics (MD) simulation of the photosensitive protein domain on computer for two protein states:-The light activated state-The ground state (protein without light excitation)

Study of both state stability (statistical analysis)

Determination of amino acids that could be mutated to enhance stability of light activated state

Mutation of the amino acids and test the switch in vivo

Goal: Enhance the binary effect of the light switch
