FAITH FORMATION CLASSES Classes begin Sunday, September 17. Registration for Faith Formation Classes will be on both Sun-day, September 3 and Sunday, September 10 after each Mass. We are holding our fees at $40 for one child and $50 for multiple children in one family. Please remember our sacraments are a 2 year program. If your child is receiving a sacrament in 2018, we must have a valid Baptism certificate. It is best if you could bring that certificate with you when you are registering. However, if you don’t have it, we are asking to have all Baptism certificates by January 1, 2018. If you already brought the certificate last year or if your child was Baptized here at St. Bernadette, you do not need to bring a cer-tificate. Just mark this information on the registration form. Padre cannot perform a sacrament without a valid Baptism certificate. CLASES DE FORMACIÓN DE FE El domingo 17 de septiembre comienzan las catequesis. El registro será el domingo 3 de septiem-bre y el domingo 10 de septiembre después de cada Misa. El costo es de $40 por un niño y $50 por varios niños en una familia. Por favor recuerde que nuestros sacramentos son un programa de 2 años. Si su hijo está recibiendo un sacramento en 2018, debemos tener un certificado de Bautismo válido. PARISH COUNCIL SUMMARY/RESUMEN CONSEJO PARROQUIAL The meeting on August 14 opened with a prayer led by Padre Leon. Minutes from the last meeting were approved. FINANCE: Tim reported that the budget is where it needs to be. Offertory has gone down a little but is expected to pick back up when summer vacations end. BUILDING: Jim said that the Parish Self Study & Needs Assessment will be ready for discus-sion at our next meeting. FUNDRAISING: Maggie has already reserved Gazebo Park for the next International Food Festival in April 2018. There will be a Christmas Raffle with tickets being sold from October through December 12

th. She also stated

that we should probably have one more fundraising activity during the year. PARISH CALENDAR: Healing Mass – Sept. 9th &

10th. Parish Picnic – Sept. 10

th. Knights will provide hamburgers & hot dogs, Social Committee will organize the set-up and

food, and Parishioners will provide pot luck side dishes. Parish Breakfast will be on Oct. 8th. FAITH FORMATION: Registration

will be Sept. 3rd

and Sept. 10th. Catechetical Sunday is Sept. 17

th. MINISTRY TRAINING: Training new volunteers has gone

well. A second training for Altar Servers is being planned. New Money Counters will be contacted and trained. MISC. Padre reported that the Chuch outside renovations should be completed by Sept. 10

th. Hopefully, the flooring will be replaced by

Christmas. PARKING: It is the hope of the Parish Council and Padre that parking on the street will stop. There is plenty of parking on the Church grounds. With Faith Formation starting, street parking could cause dangerous situations. The Building Committee is looking into the possibility of paving some or all of the parking area. ADDITIONAL DATES: Other Church dates and activities were discussed and will be brought to your attention as they get closer. The meeting ended with a prayer at 8:50. The next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 8

Con suerte, el piso será reemplazado por Navidad. ESTACIONAMIENTO: Es la esperanza del Consejo Parroquial y Padre que el estacionamiento en la calle se detenga. Hay un montón de aparcamiento en los jardines de la Iglesia. Con el inicio de la catequesis, el estacionamiento en la calle podría causar situ-aciones peligrosas. El Comité de Construcción está estudiando la posibilidad de pavimentar una parte o la totalidad del área de estacionamiento. FECHAS ADICIONALES: Se discutieron otras fechas y actividades de la Iglesia y serán traídas a su atención a medida que se acerquen. La reunión terminó con una oración a las 8:50.
