P.D.M. Religious & Educational Association was established in the year 1995-96. The noted

philanthropist had devoted all his life to the upliftment of the different sections of the society. Born in 1938, Sh.

Prabhu Dayal led a life of never ending struggle. Just nine days after his birth, the cruel hands of destiny rudely

snatched his reverend father. By dint of his hard work, he completed his formal education and dedicated himself to

the service of the humanity. In his strife-torn life, he not only reached the highest level of education but also

exemplified a rare degree of honesty and integrity; he became a paradigm of administrative excellence. As an

administrative officer, he discharged his official duties in various capacities. He fulfilled his onerous

responsibilities by implementing various welfare schemes. PDMREA has been founded, keeping in mind the

noble ideas cherished by Late Sh. Prabhu Dayal Ji such as social evolution, quality education for all, dedication

to one’s duty and above all the lofty notion of altruism. The institution is doing its utmost to translate his dream into

PDM at a glanceTo give impetus to higher technical education, to meet

futuristic global standards, to instil high patterns of

discipline and character building, to make students

technically strong, in short to improve the total quality

of life is what PDM is all about.

With this core goal in mind, the Prabhu Dayal Memorial

Religious and Educational Association (PDMREA,

popularly referred as PDM) came up with its first

Institution named PDM Polytechnic in 1995-96 and then

came up PDM College of Engineering in July 1999, PDM

Public School in 2003, PDM College of Pharmacy in 2004,

PDM Institute of Engineering & Technology at

Karsindhu, Safidon (Jind) in 2005, PDM College of

Education, Ultra modern PDM Dental College &

Research Institute, PDM General Hospital in 2006 and

PDM College of Engineering for Women in 2009-10. Two

new Institutes in the form of PDM College of

Technology & Management and PDM International

School are coming shortly to add more grace and colour

to the PDM family. Today, it is a well established

institution spread over 45 acres of land in absolutely

pollution free surroundings. The Association has

achieved astounding success in the field of education in

a short span of time and it plans to add new educational courses every year so that quality education in every

field becomes available less than one roof for the convenience of the student.

In order to provide a highly technical environment to, cultivate basic technical skills, impart excellent training to

the students and to produce promising professionals in every field, a good deal of infrastructure, in terms of well

equipped laboratories, computer labs with latest version systems and rich libraries with a wide range of quality

books and journals, have been made available separately for Engineering, Pharmacy, Polytechnic, M.B.A, M.C.A,

B.B.A & BCA students. The college has highly qualified, experienced, dedicated and motivated faculty and

supporting technical staff. Besides regular faculty, visiting professors from eminent institutions, universities and

reputed industrialists are invited on a regular basis to augment the teaching and academic work of all the PDM

Institutions.

The most important aspect of PDM's philosophy is to emphasize on self learning. The role of PDM in classroom

learning is meant primarily for theoretical and conceptual inputs. Combining lectures with group learning, real

life case studies and hands on exercises consolidates classroom learning further.

Page 6: Info Brochure

Group learning is used as an effective vehicle preparing prospective Technocrats, Engineers, Managers,

Pharmacists and Doctors to be adapt in seeking and acquiring knowledge. PDM has developed this learning

methodology into a prominent component of its educational policy. It is based on the assumption that peer

group learning is very effective. Free exchange of ideas among members of each group through discussions and

presentations conserves time and effort and also enhances learning and communication skills.

Case studies are generally used in illustrating the contextual setting and information technology that

characterizes situation in fields like Management Information, System Analysis and Design and Software

Engineering. This forces decision making under simulated 'real' conditions and highlights the fact that

managerial situations are far more complex.

Following the Kaizen concept of continuous improvement, endeavor is made to improve the course design and

learning principles at PDM. Guest Lectures are an important step in the achievement of this goal. They help the

students to learn and know about the latest trends, ideas and happenings in the highly dynamic world of

technology, management, pharmacy and medical science and simultaneously serve as a platform to bring the

students and the corporate world together. Admission to the institute is based on academics, experience,

motivation and leadership. A number of seminars and conferences are organized to supplement the conceptual

foundations of the students with practical experiences. Prominent speakers visit the campus from many leading

organizations of the country and abroad.

In sports activities, our students also are on the forefront. In the interstate sports festival and technical cum

cultural festival PARADIGM held at the PDM, the students of the Technical Institutions all over the country

participate. At PDM, the participants are not passive consumers of education but also contributors to the

growth of an exiting, innovative and vital enterprise. PDM’s strength is rooted firmly in the quality and diversity

of our students.

The college has fully furnished hostels and mess facilities for boys and girls. Air-conditioned administrative block,

spacious teaching blocks, ultra-modern libraries, hostels and temple, everything is constructed here keeping the

futuristic development and aesthetic layout in mind. The institute has its own generator sets and thus the

electricity is available on the campus round the clock. Endowed the well designed amphitheater and verdant

greenery, the campus provides an ambience that is conducive to learning. The world class infrastructure

Consideration of ethics & law in the context of pharmacy practice.

Technology that is concern with the application of scientific and engineering principles to the

processing or production of materials by animals or aquatic species to provide goods and services.

Examples of animal biotechnology include generation of transgenic animals or transgenic fish.

Concern with the study of the changes of normal mechanical, physical, and biochemical functions,

either caused by a disease, or resulting from an abnormal syndrome. More formally, it is the branch of

medicine which deals with any disturbances of body functions, caused by disease or prodromal

symptoms.

Institute has well equipped laboratories for Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry,

Pharmacognosy, Pharmacology. It also houses a new state of the art computer laboratory with 4 mbps

internet facilities.

Pharmaceutics LabsIn this lab the students get knowledge is developing, manufacturing and evaluating products such as

tablets, capsules, Ointments and liquids for medicinal, nutritional and cosmetic use. Also a student is

trained in product Development/ Formulation, Manufacturing, Drug delievery and Drug stabo;out

testing. Current there are two undergraduate labs for Pharmaceutics experimentations which are well

equipped with new as well as conventional gadgets like ovens, shakers, stirrers, homogenizers, tablet

machine, capsule filling machine, coating pan, viscometer, centrifuge etc. The working benches have

adequate water, gas and electrical supply.

Machine Room Product development and formulation of drugs is an important aspect for a graduate pharmacist.

Various machines and processes are involved in formulation of tablets, capsules, injectable, ointment,

lotions, suppositories, pessaries, transdermal patches, inhalations etc. The main stress these days are

given on the quality of these products. Therefore companies are making their pharmaceutical

manufacturing units in compliancewith WHO, USFDA etc. Machine room exposes the students to have

pilot facilities for manufacturing the above formulations.

microscopically studies, extraction, isolation, estimation, formulation aspects of various medicinal and

aromatic plants of traditional value. There are two pharmacognosy lab having a variety of collection of

crude drugs sample and equipments used in extraction, identification and standardization of herbal

drugs .

Medicinal Herbal GardenThe medicinal plant garden has been created for the cultivation and presentation of important

medicinal flora. The garden has been making significant practical contribution to manifold the effects

of curriculum based lecturers on pharmacognosy, phytochemistry and pharmacology. It helps the

students in learning the cultivation of medicinal plants and carrying out research on active plant

ingredients.

Pharmacology LabWe particularly emphasis upon experimental basis of pharmacology, since we believe that this

approach leads to a deeper understanding of the principles of the discipline. The Pharmacology lab

offers the student a chance to carry out invivo experimentation on rat, guinea pig, rabbit etc., in vitro

studies on different models of diseases and evaluation of drugs action etc.

The students are also trained extensively for preclinical studies on animals and theoretical exposure of

clinical studies on human beings keeping in mind Good Clinical Practices (GCP).

The lab is equipped with 25 sets of organ bath, herrington rotating drum and other equipments for

isolated tissue experiments. The labs house various equipments for psychopharmacological, anti

inflammatory, anti fertility and hepato protective studies etc.
