Installing 3ds Max Plug-in

1) Open the folder of C:\Intericad T5\vr\system. Double click the file

"SetMaxPlugin_en.exe" to run the program.

2) The dialog box will be shown as below for setting up the 3ds Max Plug-in for

InteriCAD. Select 3ds Max version and select the 3ds Max installation directory.

Click "Setting" to complete the setup.

3) When the picture is shown as below, 3ds Max Plug-in is successfully set. Click

OK to finish.

Select the installed MAX

version.

Browse the installed folder and

click Setting.

Import MTF file to Intericad

** Before importing, you need to export 3ds model as MTF on 3Ds Max program.

Basic operations:

i) Run 3ds Max program and switch to Plug-in panel, you can see the "YF

software"” in the panel.

ii) If you cannot see the "YF software" in the panel, click the icon as follows:

iii) You can add "YF software" item to the Plug-in panel as the following picture.

iv) Click the "YF software" button in Plug-in panel, you will see "Yuan Fang tool" as

below the panel.

** Select “To MTF file”.

** Define a path to save the .MTF file and click Save.

**once the MTF file is saved, run your Intericad Software

Importing MTF file to InteriCAD

**steps bellow shows how to bring MTF files into Intericad software

Select “Import 3D Max model”

Locate the MTF file and click

Open.

Now the MTF file is successfully imported into Intericad Virtual reality.

Merging 3DS Files Into VR

** Make sure your 3D Max file in “.3ds” format.

Follow the steps below:

1) Go to “File” and select“Import 3ds sketchup model”

2) Locate the 3ds file, select an insertion point in your current scene and click

OK.

3) Change the files type to “.3ds”

4)

4) The model will appear in VR with very big size.

5) Use “SELECT MODE” to select the model & resize it.

6) Select “Keep Proportion” while changing the size, after that move the

model into room.

7) Apply material to the model and you are done.

For InteriCAD T5 user, you can save the imported 3ds model into library.

1. Go to“Product Library” and select “Create entity”.

2) Select “ADD”, key in the model name and click “APPLY”

3)Select the 3ds model and right click to confirm. Then T5 will save the model into

library.

Convert 3d max file (.max) into Autocad file (.dwg)

There are 2 ways to convert 3dmax file (.max) to Autocad file (.dwg)

Export as .dwg

Open the .max file in 3d max software, e.g. coat hanger.max

Then, from 3d max software itself, select

File > Export

Choose a location where you wish to save, give a file name and choose the file

type as .dwg

Choose the Autocad Export version and click “OK”

For usage in Intericad:

To open the Autocad file at Modeling Design, type command “insert”

and press “Enter”, the following window will appear.

Click “Browse” to locate the converted .dwg file, tick on “Explode” and

click “OK”.

Click an insertion point on top view, then the 3d object will be appear.

Check size, scale size, if necessary.

Export as .3ds

Given that some of the 3d max file is in .3ds format

Open Modeling Design, select the option as shown below:

Then browse for the location where you had saved and click “Open”.

Window as below would be appear, click “Add All” and click “OK”.

Again, the 3d object will be appear in 4 view ports as shown on part A above.
